Sonicare mod idea

This is purely hypothetical at this point, but...

One of the first things that came into mind after having to screw the little batteries into the chargers every couple hours, was how cool it would be to have a little "ashtray" charger that works like Sonicare's toothbrush charger that is contactless. Whenever you set it down it is charging. Even one with contacts would be great--just so long as it charges at it sits on it's base--without screwing.

I might start prototyping one--ideas? comments? Did someone already think this up? I know a Sonicare is almost too expensive to Frankenstein.

loong totem's usb charger seems to work along the same princple.

interestingly though the usb charger that came with takes a lot of different batteries. it contains a centre pin which is spring mounted so it adjusts to whichever size you need..you push the battery down into it to charge, you don't screw. its an interesting approach

a very narrow and lightly sprung centre positive pin and some sprung loaded ball bearings on the negative would work.
