Since there are no lables ie + or - I'm assuming the negative side is the side it has the black on top? Going to charge it for my first mod. Thanks! Sony_US18650VTC4_3_6V_2100mAh_30A_discharge_IMR_18650_battery.jpg

Also what is the top battery I could grab for amps mixed with mah, I don't need a 3k 4k mah, just looking for 2k or so. But I want a bad boy battery. I'm using a Sony IMR 18650, 2100mAh, Flat Top. I know there is the high drain 30amp which is for mechanicals. Would that work also in a Smoktech SID? Even not using it at its high amps?

VV/VW device like 15A + altho a 10A would be capable of doing the job too

Correct me if I have this wrong, but I think you've got a Sony VTC4, 30 amp, 2100 mAh. The Sopny VTC5 is the same 30A, but it's 2600 mAh and will outlast most higher mAh batteries in most applications.

A 30A battery can happily discharge at 1A until it needs to be recharged, so you can use them in anything. A 10A battery will overheat if you draw more than 10A from it so using them in mechanical mods is not considered as safe as the higher amp batteries.

There are links to a ton if information in this post: One Stop Reference Shop For New and Experienced Vapers. Suggest you read about anything battery related and about Ohm's law that you don't already know :)

Hope that helps.

Yeah found it on Madvapes. I got heavy into this in march, the first week of owning my first one being a ProTank 2, I was taking apart the coils, wrapping the coils with out a ohm meter with in two weeks already, guesstimating the circumference and also the wraps for the resistance it would put out. I started using cotton. Ripping out all the mass produced Kanger heads, Then went to 29 gauge. Later, recently last month or so got a Kayfun clone and a ohm meter. I checked my wraps of my old protank coils just for fun, they where dead on what I thought the ohms were. Anyways, moved forward had a ego twist with a kayfun, but we all know about ego-s good for on the run batteries if well your really into it, you aren't using a Ego on your main tank or RDA. So I just got this first "mod" Smoktech SID and going deeper. Long story long, yeah I checked the site we all know of that's massive site aka Madvapes I didn't originally see the info, but didn't know on the info on batteries for the devices themselves for the highest performance to move forward. Thanks to RIP Trippers, he's like me can't stop messing with anything and wants it perfect. Anyhow found the info thanks for the responds.

Put an x on the positive side with a sharpie. It helps when you are tired.

Yeah the positve side is what I thought it was. And you are totally correct, I was tired as hell when I got them in the mail yesturday, I was up for a long time lol! But most these type of mods have battery protection if the battery goes in backwards minus I'm guessing a mechanical? But yeah man I was really really tired haha!
