Sony VTC5 first time use

I just recieved two new VTC5 batteries in the mail and currently all my other devices are dead. I have been charging the batteries for about 2 hours but they arent full yet. Do I have to charge them all the way to full for the first use or does it not matter.

I don't think it's critical; i'd use 1 at 3.9 or 4 volts while the other is charging

but in general, it's recommended to let batteries relax half hour after charging before you put them to use

I use some 10 batts in rotation.
charged ones are lined up on my desk in order.
FIFO; (first in first out)
and there's a line at my 2 dual bay chargers
as a result batteries systematically get relaxation time, because, they've been sitting in a line

would it harm the batteries to not give them relax time?

because i only have two batteries for my mech right now and one dual charger so there isnt really any time for them to relax

Resting a battery before & after charging is a good practice to get in to.

Not resting a battery once won't probably won't do any long term damage but, I would & do rest mine every time.
Always have back ups or patience if you don't.
