I am trying to tweak a sour green apple recipe and keep getting hit with setbacks and horrible flavors. The recipes I can find are as follows.

12.5% Green Apple (LA)
5% EM
2% Bitter Wizard

The EM tends to over power and flatten the taste of the green apple, and I can't seem to boost the green apple flavor up and get the sour effect to kick in. I have tried TFA Green Apple, and Cotton Candy for the EM, and TFA Sour 20%.

Any ideas or recipes that would produce a great Sour Green Apple vape?

The TFA is a good flavor but it seems light even by itself at 20%. CAP the flavor seems off and i didnt find that good. i have some new LA ordered so ill give that another run.

The sour is there and i like the extra kick but the EM seems to mute the flavor. I upped the sour to 4% and idropped the EM to 3%. It seems better. My next one i will try leaving the EM out and get the flavor and pucker factor adjusted. it shouldnt need sweetener. I will post it when i can get everything adjusted and a good vape. :)

Have never tried sour green apple flavoring so can't speak to that, but I would suggest you try using sucralose sweetener instead of EM if you decide on any sweetener at all. IMO, EM adds a creamier, almost custardy sweetness, better for "bakery" type flavors, while sucralose adds a clearer, cleaner sweet and is better suited to fruit, mint, and soda types. Some flavor sites don't specify which sweetener they offer; Wizard Labs is one I've found that does, and offers both.

I'm still playing around with the sour in flavors myself. Digging through all the recipes online all I could come up for a sour with was one I lead off the post with. It sure sounded tasty but it bombed hard.

I just mixed up a 10ml batch of flavor and sour to see how it goes. Doing a vibe steep on it now. I'll test it in a few hours and see how it tastes. This should give the sour more time to mix in. I'm glad to see i'm not the only one that things CAP Green Apples tasted off. lol...

I was thinking about trying sweetener in the mix, however I didn't want to spoil the sour punch I was looking for. The EM in the mix wouldn't be as sweet, however as I'm thinking about it more it might have been the EM and the Sour together that killed the flavor. I mixed a 10ml batch of flavor and sour, so I can divide them up and see what methods taste better. Thanks for the tip.

Sample batches failed horribly. The flavors were overrun at 4% sour and 16% flavor and sour didn't kick in enough. I fired up another batch test run. This time using a LA Watermelon. I am officially out of LA Green Apple but I have more in transit (holidays have slowed shipping though). LA Watermelon is a great flavor, nice and rich. I would like to keep these 20% mixes for ease of use.

Citric acid might be a better method for souring fruit flavors. If this batch doesn't do well then I will sample with that and see if it works any better. More to come.

I haven't tried any Lorann flavours yet. I am not over impressed with Capella Sweet Watermelon so maybe I'll give the LA a try.

One of my first mixing adventures was for a watermelon jolly rancher juice for my wife. I tried everything until hitting on the LA Watermelon. It was exactly the taste she was after, and I've used it ever since. Some of the LA flavors I'm not too keen on, however this is one I swear by. Hope this helps.

Wow!! That looks like its the key. Do you know what the mixing ratios are? I'll search the forums and see what I can find as well. Meanwhile I'm going to get the order rolling and give it a whirl. Thanks for the tip. :)

The link I sent you has all the information you need just scroll down.

BTW

If you use EM the suggested usage amount is one to two drops per 10ml.

As I was placing the order I noticed the mixing information below. Oooppsss.. I was more focused on the product information and seeing that it was going to do the trick than reviewing the tips below. Order is placed, but I'll keep playing with the current batches. Who knows what will come out of it. I mix my own EM, so this will be a snap to whip together.

Thanks for the tip on the EM as well. I'll give it a whirl and post back when I get something stable and tasty. I mix my own EM, so the MA should be a snap. Thanks for the guidance. I'll post more back when I get some samples going later this week or so.
