Why'd you go editing ur msg? That was good advice...put it back

I figured you either told her the same thing, or something better;)....But...thank you:blush:....I will put it back:laugh:

Not sure which system you are using, but if Windows, you can do a system restore. In the start menu, go to programs and select all programs. If you have Windows7...choose the accessories folder and then system tools. If you are running Windows XP I believe System Tools is under all programs by itself. Under system tools you have a selection of system restore. It will restore your computer to an earlier date....or it should;)

If this doesn't work, you can try again to defrag the hard drive. It sounds as if there was an error in the initial defrag.

I have Windows XP :) I did run the chkdk /r :) Prompts are still coming up and I just right click and close them, but the internet is working so far :) I donn't know what else to do but send it to Tech Guru here in my neighborhood :) They do all my computer fixings :) One last try and I didn't see system restore, but I am going to try and locate it now :)

Edit: Forget to say also, that my Programs are all gone from the Programs list, my desktop, everything is gone :(
Thanks everyone for your help :)

Okay folks, I did the system restore (found it, lol) and then defragged again :) My desktop came back up and the things that I had in my Start tab is there :) The only thing that is not there is everything that was in my favorites, it is ALL gone. Have to start over again :( It won't let me make a E-cigarette folder, says that it already exists. Hmmmmm.... But it is not there and I don't know how to retrieve what was in my Favorites :(

Thanks a million friends,

Hi there folks, soon I will be off line for a bit :( I have to take this computer to the computer dr :( Everything in my favorites are gone, although they are still in my computer somewhere :) My desktop is gone too, although I know that it is in the computer as well too. This was after cleaning up the disk drive and then defragging the computer. The prompt that I am getting is:

"A performance problem with one or more installed IDE/SATA hard drives has been detected. System restart is highly recommemded." If anyone can help me retrieve these and fix it, please let me know by PM. Otherwise, it will have to go to the computer dr for repair. There are about 9 of these prompt up on my screen at the moment :( ANd All I am doing is closing them out.

Thanks a bunch,
Hugs,
Skeeter

You'll need to reformat you hard drive sad to say. you'll pay big buck to have it done at a shop or go to a comp you can use and goggle reformatting. Assuming windows you'll need to reinstall that. I reformat every 6 months. A note it will take a bit of on and off on and off to get all the updates depending which windows you install (I hate 7 but that just me). Burn all the files you want to keep or copy them to another comp. It's not hard to do just time consuming...

There are sites you can copy bookmarks or favorites too, and retrieve them for the new install...
I use xmarks for firefox to store mine.

You guys are always so sweet and helpful. :)

Sorry I haven't been a round much lately. School is kicking my tush, and I have been swamped. Orders are still being worked on and going out. I am looking at a 48 to 72 hour turn around at the moment. Hopefully I can speed it back up soon.

Hugs to you all, and thank you for keeping the porch alive! :D
