I was real fortunate. I was given a trip to Disney World (including the flight) with my family.
I got to Midway Airport (Chicago) and was vaping on the L, and in the airport quite openly and no-one cared. Not a problem until I reached the security checkpoint. When the x-ray person looked at my stuff, my bag was pulled for a manual check. I commented that it was probably the batteries for the e-cig. "Nope. This is definitely not a battery. I see those, and they are fine." Turns out I accidentally brought along a cheap folding knife.
"You know you can't have this." "Yup. Throw it away or keep it. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to bring that along." (I think the guard kept it, reran the bag, and onto to terminal with no problems.) I was vaping very openly in the hallways and at the terminal. Even on the plane.
Got to Disney World, and no one objected to my vaping anywhere. (I went through the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and Hollywood Studios.) Although it is worth noting that the people at Magic Kingdom were actively hostile to smokers. Just holding an unlit smoke would get people intercepting you with a "You can't do that!" In the other parks, it was a "I'm sorry, but the smoking area is just over there."
On the trip back, still no problems anywhere. (Well, my portable 120db alarm clock got my bag a manual check...) I volunteered to be bumped from my flight to the next flight, and flew back on a plane with every seat sold-out. With the guy on my left asleep, and the guy on my right leaning over and talking with the person across the isle, no one even knew that I was vaping, even though I wasn't particularly stealthy about it.
And BTW: If you do go to Disney, be sure to bring plenty of backup equipment. At one point my batteries died (I forgot to charge my recharging case, so I only had one mostly-charged battery that died halfway though the day.) so I went to guy a pack of smokes. $7.50 for the generic (which I ended up buying) which is the nastiest smoke I've ever had, hands-down. And $9.50 for name-brand, and only a very limited selection of brands...
Hope this helps!
