Mr Blooper, no need to be sorry..... Most people have no idea about the truth of how qualified vets are trated by the V.A. Hospitals...... I was homeless for 3 years, had applied for benefits and got rejected......
A friend took me to the Viet Nam Vets Office and they hooked me up in 6 months..... I had no idea how to get my benefits...... They often reject claims only to approve if somebody persists......
I feel sorry for the Homeless Vets on the streets, usually substance abusers, that have no idea how to get benefits..... The V.A. has Vets Homes and Homeless Shelters.....
When I see a homeless person, I ask if they are a veteran...... If they are, I point them in the right direction...... You and everyone can help, by pointing them to Vet Groups..... I highly recommend the Viet Nam Vets...... They will often help even if not a Viet Nam Vet as long as you are a vet...... Please Help.....

I was homeless for years, but was lucky or blessed..... Lived in the back of my 12 year old Jeep Cherokee..... Slept at highway rest areas......
Now, thanks to the Viet Nam Vets and the VA, I get my Mil Ret Pay, VA Disability and Social Security...... I have 2 five year old Jeep Liberty's, 1 for me, 1 for my wife..... I got a condominium, and live pretty good for a disabled person that can't work......
I consider myself very blessed by GOD, and am thankful to my country for taking care of me, after I sacraficed my health and risked my life for them......
I highly recommend the military as a good career to those that are willing and can put up with the arduous life style..... With the exception of combat, I had a very nice life......

Blooper and abhowe......
abhowe is totally correct. i too am 80% service connected combat vet and the VA does take great care of us. I have 2 shrinks that are fantastic, have a urologist that is tops, my primary care doc is always concerned about me when i see him. I get great care from the VA and so do my buddies that go there as well. I am very fortunate to be here today. But yes its true when i first went to the VA back in 1972 i was told to just move on and take it like a man. But that was not the doctors that was so called regional clerks that were told to do that. So many people today think that the VA has **** docs but there are so many private doctors out there that are getting sued for malpractice that they throw in the towel on their practice and go to work for the VA. These too are top docs and surgeons. anyway i wanted to throw in my 2 cents. The VA saved my life and i owe them for the care i receive. also i will say and i see this when i am there, the kids coming home today from afgan , and Iraq are being taken care of just as good. Again i want to wish all vets and returning vets a big Welcome Home. Go to the VA and get the help you deserve. They are waiting for you. We are well compensated and well taken care of for any service connected disability we may have got.
Thanks for listening.

My Primary Care Doc is from India..... She graduated from Harvard Medical School, worked at Tufts and John Hopkins...... She also worked at the Mayo Clinic for a while..... My GI doc writes GI articles in the New England Med Journal and is considered one of the best in the field..... My Neuro doc is the one doc that is a fruit loop...... I think a taxi driver knows more medical than he does..... But, overall, my doctors are great......

I may never have served, but am touched by your kindness.
I'm sure those who have and know, are really grateful to you for recognising them.
How I wish more companies were as aware as you are.

Thanks for the nice comments, V4L is all about our customers, our service, and helping people Vape, not smoke:thumb:

Thank you guys so much for the sale! Order placed (#8110)!!

On a side note, unfortunately, my Dad found out about the Viet Nam Vets Office a little too late. With their help, he got approved for his disability after 12 years of trying on his own. He had several hundred thousand dollars coming in back pay that he never saw, because he passed away about a month after the approval. My Mom did get the survivor benefits, but he suffered so much, for so long, that it just doesn't seem right.

Anyway, thanks again for the sale, and I apologize for the rant. Also, he hated the VA docs.

I'm not on the forum as much as I used to be, because I am taking care of my mom and still trying to work fulltime.

But I wanted to take time today to say a special thanks to Steve for his wonderful generosity to current and past Veterans. Even though I wasn't able to take advantage of the 30% off sale myself, it really warms my heart that Steve did this as a gesture of love and appreciation for those who have served or are currently serving their country.

I don't think I have ever seen a 30% discount to veterans before. So thank you, Steve, thank you very, very much.
