The last two days or so I have been having a problem when squeezing juice up into the atty and juice cup. It seems I can squeeze the juice up, but when I relieve pressure on the bottle, it just sucks it right back down. It didn't used to do this... it would suck air into the bottle instead, which is eventually how the bottle empties.

Anyone know whats going on?

Thanks :)

Me thinks its time for a hot bath. Sounds to me like the slots in the juice cup that allow juice out and air in may have a glazed coating of juice causing your problem. But many others much wiser than me may know better :D

Only other tidbit of inflamation I can offer is try backing out your atty/carto a 1/2-1/4 turn if you have it cranked all the way down.

Really only 4 things it could be I think.

1) the aforementioned gunk build up on the connector.
2) hose hitting the bottom of the bottle.
3) O-ring not seated properly in the bottle cap
4) small puncture or split in the hose (but that would leak as well)

So my guess is either 1, 2, or 3 :D Good luck.

So I don't have any leaks and the hose is about 1/8" off the bottom of the bottle. I agree that if the O-ring wasn't creating a seal, it doesn't seem like it would be able to create a vapor lock.

So I will give it a hot bath it tonight. Obviously I'll take off the bottle itself and remove the battery and atty, but should I also pull off the hose/cap assembly? In 4 months since I got my Reo, I have not given it a bath yet, lol.

Thanks for everyone's input :)

The hose is on with a dab of super glue so don't pull that off or you might need a new one (or have a short one)

You can take the cap off the hose but its tricky getting back on. If you do its best to pull the hose through with tweezers ...
pushing the hose makes it swell up and it never goes through the hole.

I just wash mine with the cap on the tube.

I flush with water and finish with a vodka rinse. I fill the bottle with vodka to and squirt it up though a bunch of times.

Sometimes it is as simple as the cap is on too tight.

Wow, I think that was it! I needed to refill my bottle anyway, and the cap was on pretty tight, so I refilled and didn't crank it down super tight and its working properly again. Just tight enough so it forms a seal and doesn't leak :)

I wonder why a too tight cap would do that?

The air can't get in to replace the juice that is squonked!

Well thats a good theory but if the cap is letting the air back in it would also be loose enough to let air out and you would not be able to squonk.

Was the joose low when this started ??? The top half of a bottle squonks much nicer than the bottom half.
I often (almost always) top off with 2ml + left in the bottle.

But yes, please only snug the cap. If its too tight it ruins your o-ring sooner.

I had about 2 to 2.5ml left when I had the problem. I haven't had the problem previously, even when vaping the bottle down to < .5ml

I was thinking more, and maybe the o-ring was tweaked in such a way (because the cap was so tight) that it formed a one way flapper valve. So it would seal when pressurize, but unseal when pressure was released?

I don't know...I'm reaching here and it feels like a long stretch :)

another note about replacing the cap....it is easier to snip a small corner off the bottom of the feed tube, then when trying to slide the cap back on...twist it on to the tube as if it had threading...you can also use a drop of your ejuice as a lubricant. :)

Good idea...probably prevent creating a suction lock on the bottom of the bottle too :)

We'll the ol' Reo got a hot bath tonight and is looking and working pretty spiffy :)

I think the biggest improvement was also boiling the atty's. Previously I had only soaked them in grain alcohol. Boiling them for 5 min is a huge improvement... I'm ditching the Everclear. These HH.357s are working like they were the day I got them!
