Wish I could help you out!

I also have the Squape R, and I'm thinking of getting the wide deck.

Have you tried a Squape R out with the wider deck? If I find the wide deck available somewhere, I'll be sure to post it here.

Thanks
Unfortunately I'm still waiting for this bad boy to come in the mail, but I feel like the standard deck if similar to the original it would really benefit to be able to have that extra wicking material on the deck for the sub ohm builds with the wide open airflow using cotton. On the original I feel those low ohm builds on the old deck with cotton cannot keep it properly wicked. But who knows lol, could be just thinking too much into things. How are you liking yours?

I'm loving it!

When I first purchased mine, I purchased it at VapeRev's B & M shop, and they were good enough to build my first build on it, so that I could use it on my (45 minute) drive home.

It vapped like a beast! GREAT flavor, tremendous plumes of vapor...

I actually tried one of their employee's Squape R, before purchasing mine, and he was using the S deck. It produced such great flavor that I really decided not to spend the money on the W deck.

Now that I'm wicking myself, I at times get dry hits... not very often, but I do get them. What's great is how easy it is to change the cotton on these attys... don't need to empty them, just flip 'em over, unscrew the deck, set top with remaining juice aside and work on your build!

(oh.... and NO leaks, NO gurgling... only the on occasion dry hit, which, I know can be fixed because I never got it on my original build)

I change the wick and it woks great for a day, day and a half, then I (sometimes) get a dry, burnt hit. Only reason I'm thinking of the W deck.

I think if I can figure out what I'm doing wrong, I really wouldn't need the W deck.

VapeRev just posted a video on YouTube, showing how to build an S deck on a Squape R. I have to give their method a try, because I have been doing it differently (I pack the cotton into the channels, while they don't pack the cotton, they simply make sure a small amount of cotton is in the vertical portion of the channel...)

Bottom line, I love it, but I'm still learning!
