So i still haven't gotten my first e-cig due to funds.
But i tried my first one the other day. and i'm even more confident now that this will work for me!
it was one someone had gotten from a liquor store, had "SQUARE" written on the side. it wasn't one i would get i think because she said it doesn't have refillable carts or anything.... but it had a great throat hit and kind of a sweet taste... it was really good...

so i was wondering if you tried this kind before, what would you think would be the best starter kit by comparison???

Don't be a square. ...Just playin'

Welcome to ECF. Some of us had rough starts with overpriced half broken junk and still learned to love vaping. If you're happy with a liquor store leftover, just wait until you get a good PV (personal vaporizer) and some high quality juice.
The first question is do you want a large battery that last forever or is cigarette shape very important?

I would not fool around with the store bought, eventually you will be disappointed with the cost, the battery life, or failing atty's batteries chargers etc. You can read the horror stories about these, there are hundreds of complaints here. I would recommed the eGo or Riva from Libertylfights.com and usethe discount code in the corner for 20% and you can get them for like $29.99. Good battery, throat hit, durable and many replacement parts from all the major suppliers. They don't look exactly like a cig but the more they look like a cig, usally they have less performance, imo. And welcome to ECF!

They have the "Square" in one of the liquor stores near me.
They have had various other brands there too, with no clue what they are doing really.

This might be the first time I've seen anyone mention this brand here though.
Next time I go there I could examine it and see what it might be, but that will probably be too late to help you.

My guess is that it is no better than any of the other "brands" they've sold in the last few months.
It seems that many folks are getting on the gravy train, and their products should be considered questionable until proven guilty.

Oh wait, this is America, right?

Well, still, in the world of vaping, keep your hand on your wallet.
And come here to learn before you leap.

Best starter kit depends on your needs. What strength cigs do you smoke and how many epr day? Are you near AC or USB power most of the time (if yes then a smaller ecig would be OK unless you need the hotter hits a fat ecig or a mod can provide)

Some to look at, from short to long battery - figure 100mah is an hour of moderate vaping

180mah Joye 510 manual and I like using it with cartomizers (a slight ongoing extra expense in addition to juice)

280mah Joye 510 mega xl manual (longer - 128mm w/ a cartomizer)

280mah KR808D-1 (also Vapor4Life) manual with standard batteries - not as well sealed as a 510 manual, somewhat hotter dryer hit, prefilled cartomizers available (only a small convenience since you need to add liquid anyway to get days of use out of one)

And then the fat batteries and mods

Ego or its better-priced popular clone Riva 510 - 650mah or higher

Box mods like a plastic rectangular box with a with a button and an atomizer/cartomizer socket, removable long-charge batteries

The square 82 disposable e cig is actually pretty good, but It worries me. I like to know just what is in my juice. PG, VG, Nicotine content, flavor, etc.. And the "square" doesn't tell. On the upside they last awhile and run about 7 bucks for the equivalent of 2 packs of smokes, which in NC is cheaper then 2 packs. I think if higher quality companies could produce 7 dollar disposables with decent flavors ( the red square is flue cured dekang) they would have a corner on the market.

By-pass the smaller batteries. Here's what I suggest, a riva kit from liberty-flights. You will also need to purchase a couple extra atomizers and I also suggest getting a box of Boge cartomizers so you can just fill and go without carrying around a bunch of bottles. Get a drip tip while you're at it. Dripping is nice to do while at home.

The Square ecig sold at Liquor stores, Arco, and Shell, and other places... it's a GREAT disposable ecig for only 6.50. First I got one becuase my battery died on my ego, and I didn't think it would even be as good as it was. Yes I use an Ego, and if I could get unlimited Squares, I'd use them only. The flavor is great, they are very reliable, there is NO breaking or crappy attomizers, they are all very stable 1 piece... lasts about 2 days. So it's expensive, however I really LOVE IT and am going to buy another just for the heck of it. I've already gone through 5 of them over 2 weeks.

I bought a few of these a couple weeks back while waiting for my bloog kit to arrive. Now that I've been using the bloog, I kind of miss the long battery life of the squares. Good product. I REALLY liked the flavor of them. Wish I could find out definitively what juice they're using, cuz I'd prolly wanna buy a lot of it.
