I currently have a DES 901, I recommended it to a friend, and he is thinking about ordering the following as a starter:

SS Choice No. 7 Micro Starter Kit - ECigarettesChoice.com

I can't really find any useful views / opinions on them, so I decided I'd come to the place where I'm sure i can get some feed back! so let me have it, let me know if you've used this model and how it stacks up next to a DSE 901, etc! This is going to be for a new e-smoker, so keep that in mind, thanks in advance for all the helpful advice you may be able to offer!

As a matter of fact this was the exact same first purchase I ever made of an e-cig. It took so long to get that by the time it arrived I had already ordered and begun vap'n two other devices. When it did finally arrive I had the experience to know that I WAY over paid for it and that I would not be happy with it. I ended up selling it to a lady that really wanted, even though I explained all of what I didn't like about it. But she thought it was cute and wanted it. And since I had it she wouldn't have to order it. So, she is happy and I'm happy.

I would neve recommend the SS to anyone, but would never knock someone else it they liked it.

That was also my first purchase I ever made of an e-cig. The service was great, and it arrived in a couple of days. But, that was the end of my good experiences with it.

I’m fairly new with e-cigs, so perhaps it was my lack of knowledge that caused some of the bad experience, I don’t know. And I can only compare it with a Joye510, the only other type of e-cig I’ve tried.

The two biggest complaints that I had with the No. 7 were that there wasn’t much vapor and that I could never refill the cart without getting a mouthful of juice. And I’m not talking about a drop or two, I think I drank nearly as much juice as I smoked (vaped?). In contrast, I think after the second time I refilled the 510, I don’t remember getting hardly any liquid juice when inhaling.

As SheerLuckHolmes pointed out, at $75 for the starter kit, I also feel like I way over paid for what I got. And your friend should compare spare parts prices, they want $17.95 for a battery and $24.99 for an atomizer, versus around $10 and $7 for the 510 or M-40x (and I think the 901’s are in the same general price range).

I would not recommend the No. 7. And I would strongly recommend staying away from their Tobacco flavored juice.

I would recommend the 510. The only drawback I can think of for a new e-smoker is the manual battery. Holding down a button to ‘smoke’ is very un-natural for me. Perhaps an auto-battery would be better for a newbie.

I actually swayed him to a 510, from ruyan.. I haven't used one, but I heard good things, I had him order a manual kit with two auto batteries, just incase he prefers them, I don't mind hitting the usb pass button when i use my 901, but if I'm playing pool at the bar etc, I'd like to be able to just inhale my e-cig, and not be bothered with a a manual battery, though i think they are better performing in many aspects, they being manual vs auto.

I am new to the e cig experience. I bought the ss micro right away without to much reaserch. i bought it about 6 weeks ago and used it sparingly not realy enjoying it. it was the kit that had 5 prefilled carts 2 batteries and one atomizer. that was a mistake. about 10 days ago i rebought the ss micro this time with 2 batteries 2 atomizers 15 carts and 1 30 ml bottle of liquid. i was again frustrated with the lack of smoke and the swalowing of liquid. i came on the site to learn more about e cigs. i decided to try vaping snus. a mistake because the micro carts are to small for vaping snus. but the vg that got in my atomizer gave me thick billows of smoke. the next cart i used i put in a 1/2 drop of vg. vg is alot thicker than the juice and it no longer drips in my mouth. i now am inlove with my e cig. the auto battery lasts about 1/2 a day but since i have 3 i just rotate them. i could not imagine any e cig giving off better smoke, but i am new to this and have only tried one.

Yes, I too got this crappy thing before I had learned better. I got the kit that included the PCC. Now, they put a lot of thought into the PCC but dropped the ball with the No7. It spits juice, does not give good vapor, and the taste is not as good as my Joye 510.

I will keep the No7 as a backup in case I have any problems with my 510 and need to order parts.

Steer clear of this Ecig. I got a weak atomizer with mine and complained to SS Choice. It has been 2 weeks and I have not heard back from them.......

I used to order from them all the time, but once I started researching more, I found that they were really expensive. Not only that, the batteries didn't seem to have much life in them, and at their price, I couldn't afford replacing it every month. I found that buying a 510 or an eGo was the best thing I have done. Not only are they MUCH cheaper then what SS Choice offers, the battery lasts much longer. You can find 510 batteries as low as 12.00 and eGo's as low as 18.00....much better, huh? I also used to buy my juice from them, 30ml bottle for 30 bucks...that is reasonable, however, they only offer that size so you have no choice but to spend that price. After time, I noticed that the tobacco flavor, which was my favorite, was getting lighter and lighter in color, I don't know what they were doing to it, but it wasn't the same. I have found a good site with good flavors, and they offer juice in several different sizes. BomBayVaping.com Hope you find all the help you need! Happy vaping!!

The SS #7 is the first ecig that I purchased. I ordered it online and received it fairly quickly. I enjoyed it very much at first and did not have a regular cigarette for 2 weeks after. I really liked their menthol juice. But as the prefilled carts started to run out, I found some resources online as to how to refill them. This introduced me to the world of vaping. The batteries needed constant charging. I realized quickly that I had overpaid and the kit was no longer able to completely satisfy my needs. I bought a beast of a mod called the Bombshell from hotvapes (for basically the same price as the #7) and have not used the #7 since. I would not recommend the #7, however for a casual smoker or someone looking to try vaping I think it might work. The price is steep for this intro though. But if anyone reading this really wants to quit smoking for good, go with a larger battery type mod, or at least an ego type 510 setup.
