So I went ahead and gave it a shot. It turned out ok. Just a first piece so i will work to improve. Take No credit for it since it is clockworks design. Here are pics, my wick making capabilities suck lol.
curious, I see a tank with just a coil sitting in there, how does it wick/not gurgle, where's the airflow, etc? I'm a tank fanatic so this interests me quite a bit.
It's not a tank per say, looks like one built like one but its just a coil with a wick for direct dripping. Holds up to 15 drops, kanthal wrapped at three wraps, thing hits hard. Hurts the throat and lungs lol. As for vent, it has a small 1/16 hole which is too big imo, I'm gonna have to fiddle with it some more.
hrm, not a dripping fan. I currently prefer carto tanks and am lookin to improve on it. was hoping this might be an option to look at, still cool, grats and good job

The path of the airflow is a bit off. It goes in the inlet curves upwards and exits the mouthpiece. The coil is below the inlet and on the other side, so not in the direct path and you aren't getting a good 'harvest' of the vapor. You could try directing the airflow to the coil with a 1/16" tube or 16G SS tube (needle) or raising the coil with some SS standoffs under the screws and turning the tube so the inlet is on the coil side. The 1/16" size isn't necessarily the problem, but you can easily cover part of it later.
Tried the needle thing didn't notice that much of a difference, removed wick, removed coil rewrapped it doing 4 wraps instead of three, it hits awesome now. Thick clouds. I'll try five later or tomorrow.
I made one with needles, works great.
why do we need ssmash? It is so simple
this way...thanks to post, and what kind of
Silica hope are u using?
i need to buy some.
number 3 from mcmaaster carr. i just added a ss wick oxydized and curled, looks like a snake in there. silica doesnt come close in flavor and vapor. i mean i like both, but the flaver, the fact that the mesh wont crap out on me like silica, conserves juice and wicks it better are the wining points on the ss mesh.
