SS vs. Nickel

So I got me a beautiful nickel GGTS from the classys awhile back. Took me a few days, but I'm now IN LOVE with my GG! Since hanging out in the GG forum and seeing more pics, I really REALLY like the looks of the SSGGTS with the brass tube and accents.

I am now considering selling my nickel GG and getting a new SS based on looks alone. Is there any difference between the two models besides look?

Weight. I like my SSGGTS, but I tend to carry my Nickel one around more. It's ridiculously lighter. It's kinda marked up, but I'm thinking about getting parts of it powdercoated black.

ss is heavier
ss has hidden venting holes on the cap
ss has steel connector

ss doesn't tarnish like nickel so it doesn't need to be cleaned as much

I don't feel like the weight is too heavy, ss is just perfect

I agree Silent! I like the extra weight. I like to know I have something in my hand when I am using it! I find the weight of the SS perfect for me.

I think they are both great. One of my favorites is my Nickel GGTS but I don't use it very often because I am afraid of wearing off the nickel

I kept my nickel wrapped in a microfiber cloth when I used it just because I didn't want the nickel to get ruined. I love how I can use my SSGGTS for weeks/months and probably years and it will still be shiny and beautiful.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not getting rid of either of them. I've actually been carrying around the SSGGTS a lot more now that I've got my UFS. Shrink it down to 18350 size and it's a nice, pocketable piece. On the other hand (and often in the other hand) my beat-up nickel GGTS is nice and light with a pair of RCR123As, the Stealth cap, and my Clockworks rda on it. Sometimes it's tough to choose!

Well I think you should all the time its not like you need your hands for anything else....

Even better, I get Cappy to make me some prostheses that replace my hands with GGs... Only problem with that would be refilling.

I know these are sweet exactly what I asked for and they are released when I am broke. Maybe I can get my SO to buy me one next week for my birthday!!

I live in the tropics and nickel doesnt hold up well in our humidity....... so its SS all the way for me more SS stuff please Imeo!!

If your body chemistry is not tarnishing the Nickel, why not keep it and buy a SS GGTS also. Here's pics of both side by side

Call me crazy but I'm pretty sure that's Bruce's short hand for Steel Collector tank and nickel plated control ring. But whatever the case, it is awesome having all these parts to order!
