SS wick Ego-C

Couldn't resist while waiting the Don to arrive and power my Line V2 and made a SS wick for the Ego-C.

Surprisingly no shorts after 3 x lighter oxidation. The SS i just washed before with soap and hot water. I also cut the tip diagonally to enlarge the surface exposed to the coil ...

The thing works. The only problem might be a bit slow wicking, but I guess I need to make the wick a little less tight since I am using a mixed liquid.

Now the taste surely is different. I am doing some Kentucky Sherwood by Vermilion River and it appears sweeter then with the silica wick. Not sure, maybe thats just less crap burning in there?

Well, I just wanted to share this, might be a good pseudo mod for when one does not want to attract attention with a serious mod.

Anyone else tried that?

Sounds interesting. I might just try this with my EGO-T Type B and see if it works. I'm pretty sure it will and it should be cleaner then the silica wicks there were originally used. Thanks for sharing.

After a couple of tries I noticed that the thing wicks to slow for my taste unfortunately.

I am dismissing this idea. Unfortunately. Maybe there would need to be done more experimenting with different mesh structures, but I think the problem is that the coil doesn't touch the root of the wick but only the tip, which gets dried out to fast ...
