Stacked Battery Question

Hi all,

Im new to ecf. I have a battery question please. If you stack two 3v 500 mah batts to produce 6v, is the total mah 500 or 1000. I dont know if both stacked batteries discharge at the same time to give you essentially 500 (and last 1/2 day) mah, or if they discharge more slowly, giving you the equivalent of 1000 mah (greater than one day). Thanks.

Still only 500mah. This is called being in "series". Now if you wired them so that both positive end were together and both negatives were together it would be in "parallel" and give you the 1000mah.

Thank you for your responses. Too bad...to get the 6V, you have to sacrifice the battery life...as opposed to using a 3.7 AW IMR and getting 1000 mah or more.
