I voted 1. Might be completely anecdotal, but, in my mind - there's less that can go wrong with one battery compared to two.
Also, charging is a pain in the neck with two batteries, again - compared to one.

Just one for me. I get a very nice vape with just one and my coil twisted at about 1 ohm. 
Living on the edge I guess. I love my stacked battery Mods....Reo Grand at 6 volts and Buzz's Ipro...... In my own defense I do meeter my batteries DAILY as well as only use high quality batteries which I never drain. I keep 5 sets of each and switch them out many times a day. I also temp check my batteries constantly. I'm perfectly comfortable with my choice and feel the the chances of something going wrong is extremely low with the precautions I take.

I have been exclusively stacking batteries since I started vaping nearly 3 years ago. I have tried many other configurations but none are quite as satisfying as the SB at 6 volts in my opinion.
I voted "dont care", but I stack batteries only on mods that are done for that (mostly vv devices such as the Vmax or else)
Talking about one particular mod, one reseller told me once it was better to use one 18650 battery in it than stacked batteries, and that's what I do on it, so to be as exact in my answer as possible, I'd say : in some devices I'm using stacked batteries when indicated in the user's guideline, otherwise I use one single battery, I always do what's recommended as I don't want the device to blow out in my face.
(that is to say "don't care" is unappropriate here in the poll, but I hadn't any other box to check than this one.)

I'm with a lot of you----it seems less can go wrong with a single battery, and most accidents I read about are with them stacked.
