Hi. I just came accross this (and tried it). I dropped 2 18350s in my gg and pulled trigger..a loud pop and small burst happened and have found little bits of white something in mouthpiece(dont think teeth).anyway my coil is around 1.9ohm..is this why blew up? should i wrap higher ohm?i thought that after a day or so my penny just kinda peters out and maybe more power helps?

i thought ceramic also...took off steel skirt and ceramic feels firm and dont see any damage. I did not undo wick to further check it out. put skirt back on and refilled ..has not done it again(apprehensive to stick it in my mouth)...

edit..tried and quite burnt flavor. will wait couple days when seems like penny is petering out then ill try stacks again. also next wick ill try like a 3+ ohm.

watt doesnt play a role unload, only the width of your wire. Watt is a false way to messure the strength of throat hit and smoke. I am saying this for one year now but noone listens, I dont know why.
1.9ohm/7.4v is 29 watts! And if your batts were fresh off charger could have been 8.4v for 37 watts! I'd say the juice heated so fast it blew all the buildup off your coil, suprised it didn't burn the coil in two.

Can you explain what you mean a bit more? When I mention wattage I think of it more in terms of amount of heat produced. When you say "width of your wire" are you meaning the diameter of the resistance wire or the length of wrapped coil wires? I'm curious to hear more about this because I haven't seemed to notice a big improvement going to higher ohms and volts. I must be doing something wrong, because lots of people rave about HV vaping. I feel like I'm missing out but haven't a big improvement with the things I've tried. Point me in the right direction. I've got a Pene and two Odys, coils are 1.6 to 2.2 ohm. voltage runs from 3.8 to 5.0v. I've got resistance wires from .16 to .20 What combo do you suggest I try to get a true taste of HV vaping?

I will tell you an example unloaded. Lets say that you put a wattage device at 7,4 watts with a wire made at 7,4 ohms. The device will see the resistance and it will set the voltage at 7,4 volt so it will reach the 7,4 watts. That is 1 ampere of current to the wire. You think that you will produce any smoke like this?

Another different example. Lets say that you put the "right" resistance on this wattage device, that is 1,5 ohm and you set the device at 10 watts. But you put a very fat wire with a diameter at 0,5mm. Will you produce any smoke with a fat wire like this?

Almost the same applies to voltage devices. Those devices just increase the voltage. Increasing the voltage you send more current to the wire. But you dont know how much current you have to send to wire, you just try and check and try and check again until you will find the point you can vape. And you do this in every wire you make.
Those voltage devices have limits too. They cant feed with the nessesary current a wire at 0,5mm for example and they cant feed even a thin wire made at 7,4 ohms because they will set the voltage at 7,4 volts (not all devices can do that, most of them go up to 6 volts), so they will send only 1 ampere to the wire. But 1 ampere to a wire made at 7,4 ohms is nothing.

The conclusion is that I cant give you a solution to what you can vape until VIR comes to the market. When this happen then you know what my suggestion will be.
