Hi guys!

I did up this video this past weekend, and it covers the steps necessary to building a stainless steel mesh wick all the way from cutting the mesh to working out the hot spots and vaping it.

Hope it helps some folks out there who are still having a rough time with these things. They can sure be a pain in the ....!

This will sound stupid... But what the heck...

Someone suggested to me using solid... I was using a straw type before...

It worked better with solid, PROBABLY more to do with the fact that I did so many other things different... But it has worked great ever since.

That being the only changed variable, I can try to make another with a pinhole opening in the middle and see if it matters...

So, not really a preference... It's what I used the first time I got it working right, so I've just continued...

it definatly takes some patience, nice job with the video. it seemed that initially the hotspot was from the top coil being alittle to loose, then it seemed that you had tightened it up. after that it was glowing really nice. i like the looks of the new aga. thanks

Are you suggesting that I tightened something up off camera? :) I would never mislead like that!

All kidding aside, I think you're right... I've had a couple of issues with the nuts on the center post coming loose... The major point of the video was to show folks that no crazy washers, springs, twisted wire, rolling papers, or any other gimmicky stop gaps are necessary if the wick is properly prepared.

I really like the AGA-T+... It's a pain in the bootie to get running right, but once you conquer all the secrets of Genesis RBA's it works really well. Great flavor...

Haven't touched anything else in a while...

This Terminator is a beast too... It's a toss up which one I like better...

I think the Terminator is a little easier to set up... But the flavor of the AGA-T+ is a little better... Both are close... LoL

Dam....thanks for an excellent write-up. Last night, I sat down with my new AGA-T2, pulled up your video, and proceeded to build my first wick & coil. The wick was the easy part. I wrapped a 4/5 coil with the included wire (not sure what AWG...whatever was originally included with the tank) and ended up with about 1.8-1.9. I had to fiddle with the coil for about 10-15 minutes to take care of hot spots, but after that she was vaping like a dream! I noticed that The coil needed additional fiddling after adding juice to the tank and wick assembly, even after my inital dry burns showed no hot spots. Other than that, I am a happy RBA newb!

Nice video, ive found wrapping the coil onto the wick while its not on the device to work very well.

Why do you prefer the solid wick to one with a (even pinhole sized) hole in the center?

Solid wicks have better capillary properties. I would suggest finding the #500 mesh thread. Its extremely long and filled with tons of good info and science that proves the solid wicks wick better. I can provide the link but I don't want to step on Dave's thread.

i didnt mean that at all, i know that a lot of time and effort goes into a video, and it shows. great job.
