Are the stainless steel mesh wicks any better or are they just a gimmick?

Welcome , and it depends on what sort of flavor , your looking for . Silica type wicks tend to mute the flavor , and produce a mellower vape , where the SS wicks tend to give a sharper , cleaner taste , with more flavor and throat hit . There is a learning curve to using them , but in my opinion , worth the trip .

Can you provide some sources with links?

And exactly how fragile are they? Can you wrap a coil around them without them breaking, or do you have to wrap the coil first and slide it over the ceramic?

it's the best i've found yet.
closest taste to dripping.

it's flexible, reuseable, easily cleanable.
it's not like the hard porous ceramic wick that breaks.

What your using , is a replacement for silica wicks , not necessarily Stainless wicks . But thanks for the info .

I have been happy with mesh, I am still wondering if the ceramic is worth the high cost though. is it worth the $$$ for being fragile

How long does the SS wick last in a rebuildable? Do you have to rebuild them often?
