I'm vaping now for a small week with stainless steel in TC mode and loving it! It's less springy than titanium and creates a warmer vapor then ni200.

I'm actually searching the forums here for more info on it, but it doesn't seem to be used a lot. Using it with the evic mini, the recent update has a SS option.

i will use SS only in temp mode, to decrease burned hits and a more steady vapor production. I see no reason to use it in power mode, if you got the option for temp. Better control over the vape imho.

Just got the Aspire Trition tank. It comes with a 0.4 ohm SS coil. I'm noticing a little less flavour than Kanthal, but I tried it on TC with my istick 40 and the flavour was increased. I'm not sure if I should be vaping SS on temp control so I switched back. The istick 40 only has a Ni200 mode for TC.

I learned yesterday if you switch your istick off, press fire and the plus button and hold it for 20 seconds, that you then will activate titanium mode. I don't have an istick (bloody lost it when i was drunk... but that's another story) so i can't confirm it.. Just thought you wanted to know.

Chipotle.
1 is it possible
2 how does it work
3 can this be done in nickel or titanium mode

There are coils coming out now with stainless steel wire I.e the crown, were these coils issued with temp control in mind?

1- Oh yes, it's entirely possible.
2- Magic (Is this a real question? Not sure I understand exactly what #2 is asking)
3- Sort of, you need to account for the temperature coefficient of different materials, so with Ti or Ni mode the temperature will be off what the display says, due to SS having a different coefficient than Ni or Ti. If you're going to use one, you should use Ti mode as it it much closer to SS than Ni is, there are also mods coming to market with SS in the temperature control settings already, and I'm sure the mods with the option to upgrade firmware will likely add it.

For what it's worth I've been exclusively using SS wire for over six months without temp control, I just like it much more and don't feel that temperature control is necessary at all.

This is a great thread with lots of information you should read through - 304 / 316 SS and TC

SS is Gplat. Common welding wire. I enjoy the vape. It basically does not work in TC mode as the TCR coefficient requires 600F to enable TC. I enjoy the vape. Many think they are in TC mode with it but they are not. No big deal.

On my Cloupor Mini+ in TI TC mode using SS430 the device constantly adjusts the joules as I vape, keeping the temp consistent.

It can be seen on the screen.

So it does something, to keep the temp setting.

I'd call that TC, but of course I am no expert at all.

Either way, it's a really nice reliable vape.

I use it in a Tobeco Orchid V5, Kraken and Perseus.
