I just did something tonight just for the hell of it and put my health on the line. I just tried regular steel wool in my RSST..... OMFG! this works AWESOME! no hot spots perfect wicking and no weird/metal flavors! and NOOOO burnt taste ever! I'll probably get called an idiot but I just had to try it. I am so ordering stainless steel wool but so far it is by far the best vape I have EVER EVER had and I will no longer look at mesh, cotton, hemp, ceramic or any other types of wicks the same again, It's so trouble free on the RSST because of the insulated wick hole, The coil setup I tried was a micro coil and for the wick I just used the same method for stringing cotton through a coil. I can hold the fire button for 1 min straight and it just puts out massive vapor and doesn't quit. Big problem is now that I discovered this and how awesome it vapes I can't put it down even knowing the steel wool "could" be harmfull but again I am getting no flavors of metal or anything. Just thought I'd post my findings
cheers

Glad it worked out for you. Just understand that there are risks associated with what you plan to do, so please be careful and plan accordingly.

I understand the risk be it chemical or mechanical. the most important thing is if anybody tries this do NOT dry burn the wick as it will catch fire in short order, any time you put power through it make sure its wet and you should be fine. Since my last post I've rebuilt and tested 5 times and each time was a winner with no wool glowing or flames. I can't be first person to try this I wouldn't think?

Just another update, I chain vaped this for 45 mins straight and not one dry hit with no tiping required. I'm all :) ear to ear.

if the SS wool pans out like the steel wool does maybe I can quit buying vape gear and buy more juice!
