I've been vaping for 3.5 years and swore that I had found my perfect set up and would never need to buy anything other than DIY juice supplies and batteries.
All of a sudden I have realized that I need a REO and am selling off some things to bankroll and/or justify buying one.
Ive been lurking in Reoville for the last 2 weeks, watching super_xs videos (great info and music, thanks!:headbang:) and spending down time watching Grands come and go on the site.
I've narrowed it down to a TR Grand mech as I love RBAs, 18650s and need something I can stick in my pocket or between the seats of the truck and not worry about.
My big question is whether to go with the standard or LP. I like the idea of being able to throw one of my Kayfuns on and go so what I am asking is, other than the size of the atty that will fit, is there anything else I need to consider?
Also have a question on batteries, I have a boatload of Panasonic and MNKE flat tops. I know AWs are recommended but will flat tops work in the Grand?
OK,last question... I promise (for now);)
Is the upcoming sub- ohm kit to be offered only as an upgrade or become standard on all mech REOs? Just trying to decide whether to buy now or wait.
Thanks for listening to my rambling, any input will be appreciated:)

The new kits will likely be fitted as standard, which will mean better battery life for those that don't vape at ridiculous low numbers and more fun for people like me that do!

If you think you can find a better atomiser than an RM2, then i want to know about it, so you do not HAVE to get a LP Reo, but if you do you have more options and can run things like Cyclones on it (say you have an allergy to brass and need to run SS) or anything else for that matter.

Using a tank on a LP Reo is possible, but rather pointless unless you like 2 puffs of one flavour (on board) and 2 from the tank atty.

Whether to wait or not depends on how much cleaning you like to do v how low you run your coils.

T

oh yeah - batteries - button top aw's 1600mAh are the kiddies, but i have run juuust about anything in mine.

Sub ohm kits will be standard when the kit is available, to my understanding.

The button top batteries are to give a better connection to the firing pin, I have only used flat tops as well before, but ran out and bought some before I even tried the flat tops. I think you're supposed to be able to use a neodymium magnet, I think the same as the door, on a flat top. But I have never tried this because I figured the mod deserved to have new batteries anyways and why try to stray from what others use and found to be best.

Might as well go for the lp version, even if your intent is to use kayfun/other rba's. It will open up more possibilities with modding drippers to become bottom-fed if you ever have that urge. I don't own a lp, but I'm happy with my era right now. Very small to build in, but it works well.

Good luck!

I prefer the standard, but I only use atties and the RM2. If you're interested in tinkering with almost any/all rebuildables, definitely go lp or you'll end up unhappy with the standard's limitations due to the drip well height.

Or, like many of us, you could end up living on the streets in a tent made of milled aluminum. :p

Hey coffee break is over. I would say wait for the kit and go with the LP. While yer waiting dump the Kayfuns and get more money for you second and third Reos

One can never have too much coffee or too many atties. I have considered the possibility of more Reos down the road after seeing some really nice collections around here, time will tell.

Thanks everyone for the input.

Hey :)

I bought my REOs before the LP option existed. It's the way to go if you are into RBAs and never plan to run cartos or factory attys. It has a lower / almost nonexistent catchcup so you can fit just about any RBA on it that exists or larger diameter drippers that are modded for BF (if that's your thing) and they work fine.

With a non LP you are limited to RBAs 14 mm (I think that's it) and smaller. Most bottomfed RBAs fit grands though cause they were designed to fit it :)

If I were buying a REO right now I'd get a SL / LP grand. I will get one once the new contacts come out but if I didn't have some REOs already I'd go online and order it today. Like right now.

Then retrofit the new contacts later :)

Glad you liked the vids and jams. Look forward to seeing you around :)

OK, remember all that I said about using different toppers and wanting the raw tumbled? Never mind what I said. I really love the look of the copper vein with brass. and found a bunch of resurrector cartos that I've had for awhile so I decided to go with the CV standard. I ordered a brass RM2 and button when it was in stock to go ahead and start playing with it while I wait for a CV SO to be available.

I ordered it Friday morning, had shipping confirmation within the hour and it arrived Monday, doesn't get much better than that for quick service, thanks Rob!

After reading about tarnishing of the CV, I ordered a clear Jwrap which arrived Monday also so I can wrap it right away.

I will update with pics when everything is here and vaping so I can get my badge and fat lady song:D

Thanks everyone for your input.

I also figured if/when I fall in love with it that not fitting my other toppers will be a good excuse/reason for #2:)

Got the RM2 set up with a 1 ohm micro with cotton. I am very impressed with the flavor and vapor production. Can't wait to get my hands on the REO, I was enjoying the vape so much I pushed a little too far between drips. Burned cotton is not pleasant!
A new atty always calls for a new tip, found this one which I think sets it off nicely

Now to wait...

B2L, congrats. The rotund diva is galloping over to the stage now, trying to beat LT "quick draw" on his badge dispensing.

She then realized thanks to LT that without a badge you won't be able to get into the show.

Damn shame. She can rock pretty hard. But she will remember your track and apologizes for not reading as thoroughly as she should and is ready to lay it down for you when you show up with proper credentials :)

The fat lady might be big but she sure can move fast. Sometimes she moves a little too fast. No badge here for B2L until he gets that Reo Grand SO. These badges cost a lot and the RM2, as good as they are, don't merit these stinking badges. It would diminish all those that have gone before. I just can't let that happen. I just can't roll that way. I've set one aside for that day. This party ain't over even though the fat lady sang. THis party is going to go on with some "hair of the dog" first thing and pizza delivered for breakfast.

And don't you for one second think that trash pick up is Monday. Its Wednesday. I hear that their garbage truck will start up this coming Monday but will seize up because someone put sugar in their gas tank. I'm sure investigations will follow but you can be assured that I had nothing to do with it.
