I've been off ecf for a bit. I've tried to go ahead and read the reviews on the stardusts but quite honestly with so many revisions, it's hard to make sense of it all. I'm new to these and believe I have the latest revision.

Ok so here goes, I filled up a brand new one after it arrived in yesterday's mail. I put it on a KGO and all was well for the first .4 ml. My juice is now sitting at the 1.2 ml mark. It is producing very little to no vapor whatever and I have to suck really hard to get anything at all.

Is there a simple way to mod these things or am I just stuck with this poor performing piece of equipment? I only bought 2 so at least my loss is minimal. I can't believe so many people like these??

I do find it ironic that these have the draw issues on the bats that they were designed for. Especially since it is such a simple problem.
The inside diameter of the eGo skirt is to tight on the battery. I use these on my Mako, and the draw couldn't be any better.
You can use a shorty extension (looks like crap) or you can drill a small hole in the skirt to resolve the problem.

After a day with the stardust and ego I'm finding the stock ego tanks hit better :glare:

I didn't buy the 510 to 510 either so it's like whatever... As of right now, I dont really understand the love for them. They seem cheap and arent a good vape out of the box. I've been eyeing the vivi nova mini this morning, kind of hovering over the cheackout option. I like that you can get metal tanks as well. I mentioned in another thread that the first stardust I ran became cloudy instead of clear very quickly and the tip went to .....

Technically the stardust and the vivi nova are the same with the exception of air flow management in the base. I don't even remember (or care) if the replacement heads I have were originally for the stardust or the nova. I just swap out the little spike at the top to use them in a nova.
The hit is controlled by the resistance of the coil that you choose. You can make both the stardust and nova hit like a Mac truck if you want.

I am still learning about the new stuff. in 2010 when I joined the options were pretty much a 510 and cartos. I am now getting back into vaping with the newer options being so enticing.

The one I was mentioning is the LR model. Is that really meant for a different voltage than what the standard ego-c batt provides?

Lol ! The only reason I am glad I got the Star Dusts. I don't know why they didn't add the spike on the Vivi Nova. It works Great for not getting juice down the center hole!

LR is best on the lower voltages. It is meant for things like the eGo-C!

    Relax, Enjoy!

On occasion a little juice gets under the tip or down the airway.
I just ensure the head is tight as Perpetualsharon suggests, the rubber cap is pushed down fully onto the head, release any built up liquid from being caught under the tip
and gently blow through and dry the connectors if there has been a little flooding going on.
I'll also place a small amount of cotton wick above the coil if flooding persists with a thin juice.
I too prefer the SR heads and use 1mm. cotton wick instead of the silica exclusively now.
The rebuildable versions are best for making these little changes however.
They are my go to's :vapor::vapor:

I've been vaping with the standard resistance model I got all day. I have to say it isnt bad. The tank didnt get foggy and no melting tip.

I went ahead and submitted a return for the LR model that I had the issues with, asking for a SR in return. So should be all good.

I'm guessing on the LR clearos you need to invest in the steel tip. The plastic is garbage anyways.

    I'm with u vape nerd....

I'm always late in the game with stuff but I have been using two for the last few days and I am not impressed. I think they suck. I've used thin clear juices so their should be no wicking problems really.

Flavor is muted, vapor production is ok, but they keep tasting burnt. Yes I tip them, twirl them and even hold them slanted up...and do cartwheels with them...weeeee

    I don't dare go above 3.8v... even at 4v insta-burn yuck

They are more convenient and don't fall apart and leak all over like the ce2s, but when the ce2s did work the flavor and vapor kills these things. I was using my last ce2 that's how I know. I bumped it, it was threaded wrong tried to pop it back in and got a juice fountain.....bye ce2s....ce2 build quality is/was garbage...

Is there anything easier, as consistent, and cheaper than cartos? I don't think so. I have a couple tanks and stuff but I'm tired of everything in vapedom being so finicky.

If stardusts were a dollar or two I'd say ya cuz they would be disposable to me. 5 dollars doesn't break the bank but I want it to work right and taste right or I'm not using it. And then buying them and putting them on other devices adds up... I have four stardusts to play with....

I also have two different tanks on the way vs. the 3 I have, and two other kinds of clearos coming. Its a hardware extravaganza at Ogredog's place...

I'm trying to find a better hassle free vape but for now I think ill stick with the 50 boges I have left. The old batch lol

Any suggestions on stuff to try?
I'm using strictly twist batteries to test them.

I wanted a big tank so I bought the Vivi Nova 2.5 first. I have it on standart eGo batteries. No flavor, no vapor. A few days later I got myself a Stardust V3. WOW!!! Took some hours of fiddling for it to wick properly, but once it did, it was great. Mind you, again, 1100 mAh eGo batts. I hate mods because of size and weight.

Stardusts are designed for eGos. The draw might be a little tight at first but they´re just right. I don´t want anything bigger.

I loved CE3 XL. The only drawback that they´re expensive. But they wick great even when freshly charged, almost didn´t leak (blow into the cartridge softly with a tissue over the battery end to get rid of bubbles). The drawback is that they´re expensive here, have to be syringe filled, and once they fail, throw them away. I keep a couple of boxes to try new flavors, but vape regularly on Stardusts.

I've been having some issues for a couple of days with a new clearo. The taste was hot and a little burny. Not scorched or actually burnt, but not nice and juicy like it should be, flavor muted, just generally disappointing. Figured I didn't have anything to lose, so I took it apart, cleaned it, dried it, trimmed the wicks, and fluffed them up. Then I cut two little notches in the cap over where it rests against the wicks, because it was pressing down on them and I felt like it was inhibiting the flow of juice up the the atomizer. The difference is like night and day. The vapor production is now amazing, the atomizer is staying well juiced and making happy little sizzly noises. And the juice flavor is so intense that it's making my tongue tingle.
