My niece and nephew want to quit smoking and have taken a liking to my ZMax2. They both tried it and were amazed at the flavor and TH and want information on a starter. I've been vaping quite a while and have been in MODs for over 2 years so have no experience what-so-ever with alot of the intro technology that is available now.

I would like to find recomendations for them with 510 compatability, decent batt life, a good all-in-one starter kit would be a bonus etc.
I have heard of the Twist and the Spinner but don't know much about them and if they are eGo connection only. I'm not familiar with pricing of them or if there are price comparable models that use a standard recharagable lith-ion batt that would save investment cash versus the proprietary eGo batts.
VV would be a plus.
A simple tank/cart system is adequate as it is what I use, inexpensive and easily fillable, for a noob: can chuck and replace the cart when performance is sub-par.

All of you who have either come up through the vaping ranks more recently than I have, or those of you who just keep abreast of the gear and technology help me make two more converts.

Recomendations?

just go with the twist/ spinner with a vivi nova or t3. its real cheap to buy and it has a braindead learning curve
Agreed. I read some similar advice and I haven't regretted following that advice. I have the Mini Vivi Nova/Twist and have not been disappointed. As for the learning curve, "brain dead" is a good way to put it. Except for the 5 click on/off, there's nothing about the combination that isn't self explanatory.

I'll give this yet another +1.

I have the twists and mini nova's, and depsite being able to move up or move onto something else, I still like this set up very much, and intend to keep using it. I might trade out my Twists for Spinners, just for the easier to read dials (no other reason really).

I have a couple Kanger T2's, and I like them a lot too ... same in concept as the Nova's. I just ordered the T3's today, so hopefully sometime next week I will get to try one of them out!

SLB eGo-V True VV Pass Through eGo 3.0-6.0v LCD Screen - BLACK [gv-SLBeGo-V-PassThrough-BLACK] - $26.96 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more
(Ego and 510) along with charger and a couple clearomizers and will be all set
Cheap way to get in without starting at the very bottom, because you know they will wanna upgrade, this way upgrade shouldn't be to early on (if ever)
That is an awesome suggestion.... I would add a couple Kanger T3s and they are all set

Is there anything out there similar to "The Bolt" with VV option? The plastic bolt is under $20. A VV version with a pair of IMR batts/charger and carto/tank or nova could be an inexpensive start while skipping the wasted cost of a standard starter kit. (I am not even going to assume that they won't like it).

Is that a pass though only or can it be vaped away from a plug also?

Don't know if I agree with everyone here. If they are serious about quitting analogs then they should probably get a good device now like that zmax you are using. Cheaper devices may leave something to be desired. Depends on what they want to spend really.
If they want cheaper for now and upgrade later I guess that would be fine

Cheap and VV/VW would be the Vamo at about $50. Similar to your Vmax too. Check out PBusardo's review of it. He also finally did a clearo shootout and the Kanger T3 came out on top. Can't remember if the Vamo has eGo threading so it might need a 510/eGo adapter. I'll be picking up a T3 to try next week. I need something for my Twist and 650mah eGo.
