Hey guys, I was doing good for a long time.
Had a high end set up, but I ended selling it before a big vacation.
At that time, I had dropped down to 0mg nic and havent touched a cigarette in ~5-6 months.
I was using a dripper.
After getting pretty drunk at a party I had a cigarette... then another... and then I just couldn't stop.
The next few days I got to around 1/2 a pack a day.
My iTaste SVD w/ a nautilus (which has been holding me over until now) just broke.
The button doesn't work.
I have tried using my old evod, an itaste vv, and it just doesn't do the trick.
I need something I can use where ever. The dripper only works so good in my house, that is when I'm not getting chewed out for fogging the house.
~~~~
Any ideas for a VW device that is relatively cheap?
I want to get a dna 30 or a okr/raptor box, but I am low on money.
(or if someone wants a lot of 0mg juice I don't use anymore for something XD)
So sorry you have had this "temporary" set back. You did it once so there is no question that you can do it again if you want too. The mvp2 I use to use is a great little inexpensive box mod. And lots of cool stuff in the classifieds here. Check them out. Good luck to you and I look forward to reading about your successful return back to vaping.
If you are knowledgeable about mech safety and ohms law you can pick up mech clones for cheap. Vaping walrus had a group buy on the 4nine for $20. Not sure if it's still going. Good cheap mod that makes a good backup if you end up in these dire straits again.
Everyone slips now and again, I find that vaping a higher nic in a tobacco clone flavor is best to keep me from wanting to bum a cigarette or 20 when out drinking with friends. I used to smoke camels, and I found a local shop that has a juice that tastes just how I remember camels tasting. Lots of fog helps too, so I pop that in one of my little fog machines (tobh on cloupor does nicely as I can up the wattage for a stronger vape if need be, and I keep the 4nine in my pocket just in case... Doesn't take up much room, so why not?)
I can totally relate with that "just couldn't stop" feeling; when I was so ill I couldn't vape for 4 days, after being smoke-free for 3 1/2 mos, I craved a smoke so intensely that I gave in; in my mind, I figured maybe a week or two -- it turned into a month, and I had to really make myself vape more and smoke less, till I was down to 5 a day and I figured I could stand going smoke-free. Somehow I managed it, but I did use WTA this time around, because it really puts a stop to those cravings.
desertvapes.com has a stainless Vamo v5 for $35, and their shipping is both cheap and fast. I realize Vamo may not be your 'dream vape' but it's cheap, and will get the job done, and is both vv and vw.
For a great but inexpensive top, I highly recommend the Tobeco Kayfun Lite Plus with 2mm custom airflow -- I have 2 of them, and they're the best vape I've had so far, and down to $26.95 -- I paid $32.95 for mine and worth every penny and then some.
Come visit the Still Smoking Support and Chat Thread -- lots of great folks, lots of support; it helped me a lot to know I wasn't the only one struggling with the smoke-free thing.
Andria
EDIT: it just occurred to me, you may not have batteries for that kind of mod, since you don't have other vaping stuff anymore -- desertvapes.com also has the iTaste vv3 for $26.99, and all you'd need for that is a micro-USB cable.
I must say I find some of the above post kind of ridiculous.
You stop smoking because you want to. You use something to help you stop smoking because it makes it easier to put the cigarettes down.
I have been cigarette free for 130+ days. I will NEVER smoke another cigarette, No matter what is going on in my life. I just won't do it.
Even if all my battery holding devices fail and or all my atomizers break I still won't smoke a cigarette. I'm over that now.
So you smoked because you really didn't want to quit. Yes you knew they were bad for you. Yes you new you should quit. But you still had in the back of your mind you could smoke, every now and then.
That is not the case. One leads to many. Like with other addictive substances. One is to many and a thousand isn't enough.
Any battery holding device and any atomizer will work for you IF YOU WANT TO QUIT smoking cigarettes.
No special Mod, No dripper needed. But YOU have to want to quit.
Just my opinion on that subject.
I agree that it is a decision to be made, and making decisions while drinking isn't usually a good idea.
That said, if you are stubborn about it you can quit cold turkey. You may be a monster for a few months, but it is possible. Most don't have it in them to fight that and stay stubborn. I include my self in that group.
Also, ego would no longer do it for me either. It's like going from clearos to cigalikes. Just not satisfying for me any more.
Yeah bit it is a little different when you're drunk though. Your proverbial 'give-a-damn' becomes non-existant, and it turns into 'Eh I'll let morning guy deal with it."
Exactly that -- one's judgement is NEVER good, when intoxicated. But then the 'morning guy' is stuck with the aftermath, and has to deal with whatever bad choices 'drunk guy' made. That's not ridiculous at all; it's mature actually, to realize that 'drunk guy' made a mistake, and now 'morning guy' has to do something about it.
I wish I had the excuse of being drunk when I decided to smoke, back in June. I was sober as a judge, but hurting terribly, and vapor just tasted as horrible to me then as everything else did, after 4 days of no food OR vape. But at least I managed to get that evil genie back in the bottle in just about a month, and now have an excellent example of why it'd be a good idea to NEVER try that again.
OK all I keep hearing "the ego just wouldn't do it for me anymore" statement. Thats bunk, it's all about the nic hit when you crave an analog so any device that delivers will work for a time. My suggestion is go to your B+M buy a power source you can afford it could be anything that will accept a clearomizer tank. Get the best tank you can afford (Nautilus maybe) get the strongest nic juice they carry (24mg or stronger) and get it in more VG than PG ratio ( this will maybe help with the Cloud issue). Go home and give your wife the analogs you have and settle in for a long vape session. It's like riding a bike you don't forget how, Think about how much you enjoyed Vapeing the first go round and be happy you get to do it all over again. Except your smarter now than the first time! SO go "Getter done". Whishing you all the best and rooting for the Vape Team!:2c::thumbs:
Hey, if any of us were perfect paragons of self-control, we wouldn't have been smokers to begin with, right? espkh123, if I were you, I'd get an Innokin MVP right now, and then save up for whatever high-end mod you fancy. I have a couple of expensive (for me) PVs: ProVape mini and SvoëMesto Semovar -- and I still use my MVP every day. I'm using it right now, in fact. It's really ridiculously good for the price.
Also, keep an eye on the ECF classifieds!
Not everyone is the same. Some just need the hand to mouth, in which case a cigalike may work. Some need the nicotine (most I'd venture to say), but some need the clouds for satisfaction.
If it was one size fits all, there wouldn't be the huge variety there is now.
Personally I don't see the need for 150w mods. But I don't judge those who use them and say they should be satisfied with a 30w mod because it works for me.
Find your vape style and enjoy! I think the only wrong way to vape is unsafely... Pushing batteries past their limit or moding devices into ticking pipe bombs.
Would I use an ego to stay off cigarettes? Yeah. Would I find it enjoyable? Probably not.
I completely agree with you. All these people saying "that's ridiculous, you could quit if you really wanted to, and you could use an ego if you really wanted to quit" are just like the anti-vaping folks saying "you can use patches and gum if you really want to quit." Just because something works for one person is no guarantee that it will work for another. I quit using an eRoll, and some folks really need the "big honking mods" to be able to lay the smokes down. Some people take weeks or months or hell, YEARS to finally lay them down, some people apparently do it by magic when the money for the e-cig kit has changed hands. No one way is right for everyone!!! And just because someone makes a mistake and smokes some, does not make them weak, or stupid, or mean they "don't really want to quit"! It means that cigarettes are so horribly addictive that sometimes we go back to them for what seem, in retrospect, to be kinda stupid reasons -- that's the nature of addiction! It's completely irrational! How many of us smoked for years, decades, DESPITE knowing full well how stupid and dangerous that was???
I think some of you should give this guy a break, and stop being so damn sure that you know everything about HIS addiction. Not a single one of us is perfect.
