I went down to 0nic incredibly fast - in a couple months. I vaped 0 nic for a few weeks, after which I felt no need to vape anymore. I stopped bringing my vape with me. I bummed a few cigs but never thought much of it - then I bought a pack and was back to smoking all the time.
I quit again and vaping 12mg.
Be careful with going to 0nic too fast!

Your advice is good for me to be sure because I'd been wondering what might happen if I had nothing but 0 nic to vape. I've been at 18mg for all the time I've quit to this point. A tip read here describes weaning yourself by getting O nic of your favorite and mixing with the regular strength, graduating to lesser concentrations over a long period of time.

That's my plan! Congrats on quitting again and keep up the great work!

Just be chill, no rush to get to 0 nic! You probably smoked a considerable time and just the "triggers" take a while to get a handle on. I have 33 years of analogs, straight vaping for 10 months, down to 11-12mg nic from 24mg.

You really can't rush the process. Your body and your environment will tell you when you are in a "place" to drop down or push up your nic level. I have a few juices with 18 and 24 mg nic JUST IN CASE. And that really has helped with all the acts of "Murphy's Law" randomly being thrown at me!:glare:

Always have your gear with you, whether it's an eGo or a Provari, with your favorite juice! Speaking of which, have you found your ADV? That is just another part of successful vaping. Go the "samples" route and hit up various vendors on the web that have them available.:)

Sweetie, you know what? You have another chance. And that's something to be grateful for. And yes, this is good advice and a good lesson to the rest of us stepping down. So thank you for sharing it.

I bummed a few cigs but never thought much of it -

That is the doom of many. Never bum just one cigarette. BT's model is much like lays potato chips in that you can never have just one. If you should ever find yourself in that scenario again, think to yourself:

The mistake some people makes isn't in moving too quickly to 0 nic juice Their mistake is most often in thinking that just because they have quit using nicotine in their vaping juice that they can't or won't ever again become addicted to smoking cigarettes. Giving up the act of vaping is what some people give up too quickly.

Just because I lost my addiction to nicotine 4 months after I started vaping didn't mean I still didn't experience the desire to have a cigarette a couple of times late in my first year of being smoke free. I am clueless as to why I wanted a cigarette at the time but for whatever reason the disire did happen and vaping allowed me to not give into the desire. Even in my second year of being smoking free without any addiction to nicotine there still were one or two moments when I would have liked to have had a cigarette. Even though I can honestly say I haven't had even the slightest desire to smoke a cigarette in over a year now, I still would never say that couldn't ever happen again somewhere in my future. What I do know for certain at this point is that as long as I can easily vape, I won't ever smoke.

Thanks for sharing. Don't think of it as a downfall, but a speed bump. At least you know the benefit and can easily hop back on e-cigs knowing it will work. Should make it a bit easier. Most people I talk to just don't know what they should buy, so they end up getting something that doesn't satisfy their need. Consider yourself lucky. Good advice as well!

:toast: to you for getting back on the wagon!

I don't feel quite so bad as I was down to 3 cigarettes a day. I had a venue this weekend and I had always at the past smoked on my breaks, etc there..went back to my habit. I felt awful physically..the old congested feeling. Today I am home and back in my old routine and am feeling much better now.
