I'm ordering a starter kit for my daughter. She's also sick of the tank setup she has, and is unsatisfied with the th and flavor loss. She was a marl menthol ff smoker so th is a big thing with her.

Anyway, since she has all 510 parts she's going to need the whole setup. I've heard that the diamond series batteries are really great and a noticeable difference in performance, such as quicker easier draw? But is it possible to get the diamond batteries in the starter kits?

Also, do the diamond batteries look ok for a man? Its for my ex so it's fine if he'll look a little feminine. :D But what are the other options for men? Will there be a battery that has the same new improved features but without the bling?

Your daughter should try menthol carto samplers in 18mg or higher if TH is important.
There are no diamond batteries in starter kits but as any new vaper soon learns, two batts are not enough. Using a pass-through will save on battery usage though. One battery is charging while you vape the other. If you forget to charge one or drop it in water or anything bad happens, you have to charge the good one for 3 hours. Will not vaping for that long be stressful? Sometimes it's not convenient to be tethered with a pass-through.

A starter kit with manual batteries, and an additional automatic diamond battery would be a good start. The best of both worlds.
HTH.

For gifts I usually get the manual kit if they need to stretch their budget by refilling and then give an additional king Diamond Battery so they have 3 batteries total. Yes there is a very big difference with the draw on a diamond battery and it's worth it to get one. I gave a few men diamond tip batteries and they don't think they look feminine. If you get a battery for a man just make sure to request in the "comments" section at checkout "any LED color but pink please". I usually get metallic colors (or white if trying to switch over) for men. The Stealth Series also have the new technology, but they are currently out of them. To date all the men and women have loved that camo pattern - the photograph does not do it justice! I don't get the steath series for anyone who is new to vaping since the light helps at first.

Regarding the options for men, several of the classy men (secure in their masculinity) of the V4L family have the bling Diamond Series. However, it's my understanding the Stealth batt has the same inner technology with the same draw and 20 second cutoff, just no tip light and comes in camo only.

And of course, the regular batteries are always an option for both men and women. They, too, are a fine product, just different technology from the Diamond and Stealth series. Some actually prefer them.

ETA: Sorry, didn't realize the Stealth was out of stock!

What does camo mean? I just went to the site to look at the bedazzled diamond tips. Very cute.

Hiya Catherinefrey and welcome. The camo currently in stock is actually an olive green with a bit of a gold shine to it. Very pretty, but not feminine. There is a line of "Stealth Series" batteries which are currently out of stock and has a camo pattern on it - that's what I was referring to. I think more are expected to show up soon.

Camo = camouflage.

I was not a menthol smoker and Wowboy is not considered a menthol, however to me it tastes like a hybrid of reg/menthol. The choco-tobacco on the inhale and the mint on the exhale feels menthol-y to me. Probably as hard-core as I'll get. Peppermint is very good also - it's got a wind-chill factor that is very refreshing and a good vape in the Dentist's chair (excellent exhale smell).
I have been afraid to try Smilins Special Menthol due to the name but the way people describe it, I think I would like it.
Maybe I am a latent menthol-vaper?

I went to V4L site and the reviews on the xl diamond tip don't look good. Anybody know what's going on with these batteries?

I don't know what's going on with the reviews there, actually. My personal experience is that I love them. I am starting to have a little problem with the center post loosening, and it needs constant adjustment, which is a drawback, but their overall performance still makes them among my favorite batteries for use. They converted me from an exclusive manual user to an auto lover. True, they are not perfect...yet.

This link will lead you to videos which will explain to you how to "fix" your batteries.

Apparently along with the much improved draw, the center post in these batteries is much more flexible. I have several of these and just don't screw them tightly into a charger, now just enough for the LED to blink and begin charging. Every once in a while I need to gently raise the battery post, but it's no big deal. I just love the Diamond Series and recommend them to everyone.
If you are new to vaping and/or V4L equipment this all sounds intimidating, but it's quite easy.

Thanks...I'm pretty new to the forums. I don't know how to navigate very well. I have a couple things from V4L. I prefer blank cartos so I can fill them myself. Which cartos are the newer ones everyone is saying work very well. Are there three different ones....wow, premium, and coolcart?

There are two types of prefilled cartomizers: Wow (has wow juice) and CoolCart (has premium juice).
When you want to fill blanks or refill pre-filled cartos, all bets are off and any juice goes in any carto you want.
