Oh wow. I recommend you visit some other shops and see what they are good at, and what they are bad at. There is just too much out there.

How long have you been vaping?

How versed are you in the gear that is available?

What equipment have you personally tried?

You should definitely be super knowledgeable before opening a store. Good luck in all that you do, just be careful and know that it is a very competitive industry right now that is changing at a really fast pace.

I love having B&M's close by... but must admit I don't buy much from them.

Doesn't say too much for their prospects, maybe. It's the same problem retailers in many industries have... they've turned into little more than showrooms for the internet sellers.

When my local B&M adopts a price-matching policy like Best Buy has now, they'll probably get all my business. Until then, I'll try to spend a little with them but not to my significant financial detriment.

Well, just my opinion but I can tell you what hasn't impressed me. I went to that had a juice bar whee you had to drip the juice, try it, and then when you wanted to try another you first had to blow out the old juice onto a napkin and then drip the new flavor..and the guy advised to do things like cinnamon last so it didn't totally alter the tasting device.
I tried it once and decided it was to messy to pick another juice.
I just want to go into a store, be given one of their little tester batteries, and use the little pre filled tanks. No dripping, blowing stuff out, redripping, wondering if I dripped not enough.
Others here may prefer the set up but to me as a noob, I like testing to be simple and not so messy.

The first thing you will need is a years income for bills and personal bills. Any new business doesn't typically turn a profit for at least a year, sometimes a few. Also you'll need knowledge...spend a few months learning everything about vaping, equipment, juices, and laws about vaping. Take time learning about the customers in your area... If there's not enough vapors your business with fail before ever getting off the ground.

Advertisement costs money. Customers will need to know about your store. You'll need to advertise like crazy for a few months.

No business could be successful without a business plan. Research how to make a sound business plan.

You'll need a wholesale vendor so your prices are competitive. Research a good reliable vendor.

Even with 6 months of in depth planning there's still a very high chance of failure because people have went online to find cheap prices. I'd suggest starting an online store then if its successful, save up, build a good customer base, research, plan, then open a store.

I would think your primary objective is to stock the best-sellers....Ego kits and Kanger products. They will be a decent markup but their value is in number of sales. Most walkins will find something to buy.

Second will be consumables and accessories. These are lower sales volume but with a higher markup and could make up the majority of your revenue. Coil heads, ego chargers, drip tips, 18650s, etc.

Third has to be juice. Buy bulk nicjuice and diy. If it were me I would use mtbaker but, either way, remember you are mostly catering to new vapers.

Last is catering to enthusiasts. Stock some mechanicals and rdas. Maybe keep a few R91/FKL on hand. Do keep kanthal and organic cotton in stock. A couple multimeters wouldn't hurt.

So anyway, I have no idea what I'm doing. I've never been in a b&m :D
