That's right, Day 1. Today is the going to be the first full day without an analog in a long time (not counting the 3 days I was vaping last week). The only problem that I have found so far is the amount of information on the subject in these forums. If I read all day, every day, I would probably never catch up. I am just glad to have found my new home!

Good luck and check in here for support!

And a hearty welcome to ECF!
:)

Definitely make sure you are vaping enough nicotene initially to keep yourself off the cigs (I don't use the word "analog", sounds too weirdo for me). I started with 18 mg and was a 30 yr smoker, almost 2 PAD.

10 months later of ZERO cigs and I'm still vaping high nic, 15 mg. But I don't crave cigs, ever....

I am starting off with 24mg and 18 mg of various flavors.

Best of luck to you! You can do it! Vape alot if you need to. In fact, you will probably need to Vape more than you smoked at first, which means you may need to use lower nic at times so you don't get over nic'd. I found that I just had to Vape alot to get through the nervous tic of not smoking. Whenever you want a cig, slap yourself in the face! Lol. J/k.

Congratulations! That is a fantastic step in the right direction! I agree, you can definitely go into information overload here and still feel like there's so much to learn. Made my head spin that's for sure! I found it was easier if I broke it down to topics like flavors, e-juice delivery systems, e-cig batteries, etc... made it easier to digest.

There is way too much info to ever read thru here trust me I'm still trying lol. There are no dumb questions so feel free to ask away there are a ton of helpful members around here.

Vaping is what smoking should have been from the very beginning. :) Congratulations and keep vaping! If you ever get to where you aren't satisfied either in the flavor, the hit off your battery, the vapor, whatever. Just Remember! There are lots of options for you and don't smoke! :) I admit it is very overwhelming at first in here for new vapers, but part of the fun is trying and finding out about all the wonderful options! I sort of think of it as wine tasting. It's just so delicious! :)

Well done :)

And if.... just if you happen to have a smoke (for whatever reason) don`t beat yourself up! Think about all the times a vape has stopped you from lighting up :)

Some people work on a cut-off time saying "thats it I quit" and feel guilty if they "revert" to a ciggie (mornings are the worst temptatation!). I was bloody minded about it and decided that I was never going to smoke again... and managed but it was hard for the first few days,,, the batteries went flat and I was looking for any excuse to roll a ciggie, but muddled through :)

The best advice has already been said. Make sure you have a high nicotine content (much higher than you would think of maths shows!, nicotine by vaping is not accessed by the body as well as smoking so don`t be surprised if you need 24 or 30mg to stop the craving!, you can always taper off.)

Get back-ups!
At least one battery while one is on charge and enough liquid or pre-filled carts to last until the next delivery.
Start slow. It`s not replacement therapy and don`t be dis appointed if you fall back......just start again when your battery is charged/juice replaced.

Read the forum! I know.... it`s bloody massive but most searches on Google will lead back here if you want to put in a specific research or question :)
Enjoy:D even (in my estimate while I`ve been typing unless you are asleep! you hav`nt smoked a couple of cigs so thats a start!)

I so agree with Vault. I smoked for 30 years and after 2 weeks of total vaping I just had to weaken and try a cig. I was so shocked that I only had 2 puffs and flicked it into the back alley. LOL. I think I needed to do that to reassure myself I wasn't missing out on anything. It was nasty and I wanted to vape instead. I would say in the past 2 years of vaping I have tried a cig about 4 times and the last time was last June when my grandbaby was born. I was standing outside with my ex and he was smoking. I asked for a cig to try and it was so bad. I think I had to really remind myself that I didn't need it anymore. I dunno. Mental stuff, I guess. It makes me mad at myself that I actually was such a prisoner to cigs for 30 years and did that to myself for so long. I can't believe I no longer want them. Vaping is my miracle.
