So I've had this fasttech version for about a month (actually bought two months ago but the battery tube/electronics were DOA so they sent me a replacement) and everything was working swell until a couple days ago.

Every other time or so I would hit the fire button, "Lov" (or "low battery") will show up in the display with the standard flashing red LED. I'd try it again a few seconds later and it would work fine. Now it seems to show "Lov" more often than anything else. Occasionally I'll get "HHH" to show up (no idea what that means) and other times "0.0A" which I can only assume means that it could be an electronics problem again.

All of the batteries I have been using are either fully charged or very close to it. For example, if I get the "low battery" message I will immediately hold either the + or - button to show the voltage and it always displays voltage well within the parameters set in the manual. Have been swapping out one Panasonic CGR18650CH (18650 size) for one other, as well as a pair of IMR 18350's.

I had a stretch of about a half day with no issues just recently, but it has gone back to acting up more than usual this time.

Any ideas/suggestions?

I'm actually short on those at the moment, should probably get a few more. I have at least three to swap out (shorted one earlier unfortunately) so I did and I'm having better success at getting it to fire but still running into previously stated issues.

Also my resistance and voltage readings are all over the place, including the battery life. I'll get readings of 0.1v sometimes, back up to 9.8 and then down to 8.4 right after that.

Hate to say it, but send it back and get another. I have two and have had them a long time with no problems.

There is no "fasttech version". They are all Innoken and are usually well made. Im sorry your having problems with yours. Both of yours. Wow.

PS.... Both of mine came from Fasttech also.

Chineese is Chineese.......I wont say the "P" word....... ;)

My SVD also sometimes gives me resistance readings that are just nuts. Usually it works great, but sometimes it gives me some really crazy, obviously incorrect reading like yours. Mine has always done this. I also got it from FastTech.
Other than the sporadic crazy ohms reading, it hasn't done the other stuff you've described, so I have been reluctant to send it back.

Thanks for the replies, everyone. It's still acting a bit strangely but for the last couple of days it's been functioning more closely to normal than not.

Could very well be fasttech are selling factory 2nds. All the reported problems I have read seem to point to a common denominator. I am not saying buying directly from Innokin or one of their distributors will alleviate this, as failures can occur from them as well. Something to ponder...

The battery tube I have now is a replacement of a DOA product so you are probably right. I guess I should have no qualms about asking for another replacement if they are coming from returns or somehow getting refurbished.

I'm going to make sure all of my connections are clean and dry.

Yes definitely.
Earlier today I built a very nice 1.7 ohm coil on a RDA. I put it on the SVD, and it told me it was 5 ohms! I took off the atty only to discover a bit of liquid on the 510 connector. So I sat down and meticulously cleaned the whole thing inside and out (seemed like it hadn't been done in a while), and what do you know, it read 1.7 ohms, like it should've the first time. It seems to be working fine whenever it's kept really clean.

Final (?) update! 2nd replacement battery tube arrived from FT the other day, and it's working as it should. A few things I noticed though:

1) This is a slightly different version of the SVD battery tube compared to the other two. The shade of brushed aluminum seems slightly darker (only going by impression) and the battery bottom cap is more rounded, but more noticeable is the different feel of the buttons. They are flatter and the fire button especially feels much different. Are there different production runs of the SVD running around?

2) The electronics are "slower" in this version. My other two, when checking voltage/wattage/ohm load/whatever, it would display it almost immediately. This one takes a few seconds of holding the buttons down before it displays any info. Doesn't bother me at all, just another weird thing leading me to believe this is a different version of the SVD.

3) Most related to this sub-forum: I can hear a very faint buzzing noise coming from the electronics whenever I hold the fire button down. I didn't notice this before, so it might've been happening for a while. I use either Panasonic CGR18650CHs or a pair of IMR 18350 (750mAh) and they both produce that faint electrical buzzing. Should I have any concerns about this?
