Has anyone else had this issue with the Tobeco Plume Veil or Steamboat rda? I recently got both, and have noticed just earlier that my coils were coming lose. Upon closer inspection, they both have a problem with the screws being too short to completely clamp down on the wire. I'm even using 24ga and that is still too small to completely pinch in the post holes. The screws bottom out, and the coil is still not completely secure. After a few heat cycles they become lose and the resistance doubles or triples as they work themselves loose. As they are, I will no longer be using them until I can hopefully resolve this issue. I'm hoping I can find these tiny screws in the same size and thread pitch, only slightly longer. Maybe a hobby shop would carry them for r/c cars, trains and whatnot. Does anyone know of an online source that sells something like this? I guess this is part of buying cheap clones. If only I could afford to pay $100 a piece for the real things. Thanks

:(

Well, I'm off to a bad start here. I overlooked a thread just a few posts down from mine covering a Plume Veil clone with the same problems. I guess I'll hit up some local hardware stores. I didn't think they would carry such tiny screws. I'm still interested to see if anyone else is having this issue. It's sad that everything else about these two clones are exceptional, except this one major oversight, that is such a minor thing that they could have easily caught and fixed. A set of screws that probably cost them a few cents.

Well, I just ordered a bunch of various size machine screws online, since I couldn't find any local, and I don't know the exact specs of the screws. I'm pretty sure the Plume Veil has either #3-48 or #3-56 screws and the Steamboat has #4-48, since the threads aren't the same on the few #4-40 screws I found. I'm gonna be upset if I just wasted $25 for a couple of tiny screws that won't work.

Worst case scenario, I lose my cool and break out the tools and drill out the old threads and make my own.
