McDonald-Webb would like to give out some kits for people to review.

We have decided that we will run a contest and give out five SP2 starter kits. (We were also going to give the winners a free swing at the fellow who put out the press release but management shot it down.)

These are the kits, we will be giving away the full kits with everything included...

Steampunk Starter Kit - McDonald-Webb

The contest we be decided by the best banner/sig entry

The requirements for entry are that you are a current Vaper, that you are willing to put up a review of the SP2, and you be unbiased in your review.

We would like video reviews, but if you don't have a camera or cannot make one a detailed text review would be fine.

I enjoy creativity and I need a banner for my sig featuring the SP2 and trying to stay with the Steam Punk theme. So lets see who can make the best most creative banners that we can use, if they are good enough we may use them for banner adds. Winners will give us rights to the banners because, um, er, we want to use them :)

Rules are simple, nothing crude and we need to respect the forum rules and keep this under 300 post.

Winners will be chosen by 10PM Central time Mon night Oct26

Post your entries here or e-mail them to "emily.webb@mcdonaldwebb.com"

Winning entries will be posted here and SP2's shipped out to winners Tues.

Good luck and we are really looking forward to seeing the entries.

Good question Skrymr, I hadn't really thought about it. Perhaps 400x60 would be about standard for a signature banner I'm guessing. Do that sound about right?

If I could suggest something. A full size banner for a message board is usually somewhere along the lines of 700 x 200

Proportionately shrinking that down to 400 pixels wide would make a final size of 400 x 114.

700 x 200 in my opinion would be a more appropriate size for using on your website and could be shrunk down to a smaller size without distorting the image.
It's my experience a larger image can be shrunk to a smaller size but a smaller image can't be enlarged without distorting the pixels and making the finished product not look as clear as the original image.

So, for those of us that would like to participate it would be nice to know a specific size.

Any specific color you're looking for, words or phrases you'd like to see might be helpful to know as well.

Nyabzns, that sounds good to me. I will trust your judgment at 700x200

cyberwolf, I did a bit of digging for pics and found these...same pic, one with no background image

Wench, That's cool, I like it :)

Edit: I was just searching sizes and came across this info

Leaderboard is 728 by 90

Full banner / Impact banner is 468 by 60

I verified in a few places and it looks like that's the standard and what we need. Either should be fine. I like the bigger one cause I'm greedy and it can be sized down.

Lets do 728 by 90 and that way I have the option of sizing it down :)
