This is something that you have to decide for yourself. It can be a lot of work and fiddling but most RA users feel it is worth it. It has a pretty large learning curve with so many different methods and materials that can be used but there is so much info in this forum and on Youtube to get you started. If you don't mind fiddling then most people say it's worth it.

I'm really enjoying genesis type mods lately. The wicks aren't that hard and not having to buy atomizers is nice. Down side is that they tend to be pretty expensive, and the fiddle factor is high. If you really want to try it and have a solid 510 device like a silver bullet or Provari, the AGA-T is a not too expensive way to get started.

My wick making method is copied from AMG, cut 20 x 30 cm or so piece of SS 500 and heat with a torch. Then roll it around a thin paper clip and heat again making sure every part glows orange at some point. The only thing I do different is to soak it in 50/50 pg vg and then use a lighter to burn it off. I do that twice, once it cools its good to go. Any more than that is overkill to me, this method works every time and I can make a wick and have it installed in about 10 minutes.

Is there any particular setup you are looking at?
