Steeping and Proper Storage

What is the proper way to steep a liquid ? Remove the lid and let it breathe like a bottle of wine ? How long is a proper amount of time ?

Secondly , how do you store your ecig when not in use ? Upright ? Laying down ? Is there a correct way ?

Lastly , who are some trustworthy vendors of liquid in the US. Quality liquid at a fair price.

Im down to less than 10 analogs a day from 2 1/2 packs a day. Thanks ecig and GC tobacco liqiid. Im still looking for a good Marlboro liquid . Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks for tolerating my newbie questions,

Rock a.k.a Ron =)

Some flavors don't need steeped at all, usually fruity and single, non tobacco flavors are fine right away. Complex flavors usually do improve with steeping.

With premixed juices, I give the fresh juice a sniff when I get it, if it smells of alcohol or more chemical that like the flavor it is, I leave it uncapped for 8 to 12 hours, then sniff again, should be less alcohol or chemical scent to it now. I drip it to see if it needs more steeping, it might be good after just breathing. If not I let it sit, capped and in a warm, dark place (like for proofing bread dough) for 3 days per flavor that's in it then try it again. That does the trick except with tobacco flavors.

Tobacco needs longer to steep, a week at least and, some need a month to be really good. Same as any other but, the capped, in the dark takes longer on tobacco flavors.

Mt. Baker is good, but does need steeped (they custom ix when they get your order so, it doesn't get steeped at all.) Heather's Heavenly Vapes is good and usually does not need to be steeped. Some Johnson Creek is good, but I find them hit and miss for good flavor.

For an analog like juice, I'd suggest Lucky's Vapor Store - Red Label Tobacco. It's a bit too much like an analog to me, all be that a generic or L&M maybe but, definitely too much the taste and feel of an analog to me. Worth trying if that's what you want.

I agree with BlueMoods above ^^^^. Tobaccos need a bit longer to steep. I had a bottle of Smooth Criminal from Ahlusion that took about 2 months to fully open up. When ever I get a new bottle that is freshly mixed, I leave it open in a dark spot over night before I even start vaping it.

Storing liquids. A cool, dry, dark place is just fine. I keep my juices in index card boxes (about $10 at WalMart or office supply store). The 3" x 5" smaller box holds about 20 15 ml bottles and the 4" x 6" bigger box holds about 12-15 30 ml bottles. A cabinet works well as does a drawer. Some people refrigerate their juices, but I'm not sure it's any better than room temp.

Keeping juices in the plastic bottles short term (a couple months or so) is fine, but for longer term storage, I would suggest glass bottles. I've found some great deals on 15 ml and 30 ml bottles on amazon. You can also find glass bottles at DIY mixing vendors like RTS Vapes and WizardLabs.

Some vendors use glass bottles as default: Ahlusion (30 ml size and higher), Virgin Vapors, FivePawns. And some have a glass bottle option like Alice in Vapeland.

Welcome and happy vaping!
