Steeping

Just got in my Halo tobacco sampler. First two flavors were one dimensional, coarse and similar tasting. I'm thinking they have to steep since i've heard a lot about Halo needing some steep time.

So I pulled the lids and caps off all the bottles and have them in their foam tin inside a cigar box with the lid closed. I used to smoke cigars so understand the reasoning behind aging. Is this a good option or should they set somewhere in open air?

They have a chemical from the aging process which is sometime left over and needs to be aged off and the flavors come out the more they are aged. One can have a fresh green even grassy or hay taste which mellow into more complex stronger flavors.

Even Cuban cigars are aged so their flavors mellow and combine more. Of course some cigars are awesome without aging in a humidor
like some Cubans, Padron Anniversarios and many others. One is just continuing what is done at the factory but sometimes factories will release the cigars earlier due to demand and they are not quite ready.

I have stocked piled nic juice successfully over 4 years.
Do cigars retain their nic strength several years as well?

Some people let their flavored juice sit open top and hope the nasty tastes evaporate out.
I think it works sometimes and doesn't work sometimes.

Yes but the flavors many times mellow or combine into more complex flavors. Cigar aficionado has Cuban cigars from the 70s which they review every issue and they almost always have one that is a 99 or 100 out of a hundred rating. They are all normally very high in the ratings.

Steep is the correct term. I have some from Alice in Vapeland that really became quite good after steeping. Not my favorite but quite good. I also have two bottles (Foos) from the first week I started vaping that taste like your vaping fluid out of a Porta Potty.

Steeping and aging are the same thing.

Steeping and breathing are two completely separate things. Breathing is taking the caps off and allowing alcohol and chemical flavors to evaporate. In order for this to happen , you need to allow more air circulate than what they are getting inside your cigar box.
