Second "Goo Gone"... Great stuff... Used it all the time when I worked at an electronics place.

Mine usually come off in the ultrasonic cleaner, professional nail polish remover/acetone gets off the tougher glue. If that don't work, give up and buy glass lol. Acetone will eat anything off and is cheap.

I run it under hot tap water and rub it until it's gone...

Coffee cup of water
add 1 shot glass of vodka
Soak overnight
Rub off with fingernail

peel/scrape the solids off then use Goo Gone and a vaper towel
Use isopropyl to clean the goo residue off and wash with Dawn & hot-ish water

skip the isopropyl and they won't get completely clean

works for labels and/or tape

I looked online for answers to this very question. I found an answer that will knock you socks off. Peanut Butter. No kidding! It works. I take a paper towel, run it around the rim of the peanut butter jar, and then start rubbing in a circular motion over the adhesive. You won't notice it working at first and sometimes more peanut butter is required. However, in less than a minute all of the adhesive will be gone. I promise.

Try soaking in Oxy-Clean (if you don't have very hard water, other wise it leaves a worse hard water deposit). It's what I've used for wine and beer bottles, most lift right off.
