At one point I was a 4/pk a day menthol light smoker. But I got that down to 3 packs when I started sleeping a little more.
I never wanted to quit smoking. But I got a Blu Premium 100 kit in May 2012 because I was going to be doing a lot of traveling and figured ecigs would be more acceptable in airports, on long flights, and in hotels. From the day the starter kit arrived I've never gone back to analogs. I love the flavors. And, if anything, I vape much more than I even smoked. It's in my hand all the time.
In September 2012 I tried to take the training wheels off and move up to a more robust system. In truth, I was mostly interested in the LCD screens and potentially cheaper costs of replacing Blu cartridges with e-liquids. As I'm still partial to smaller cig-a-like form factors, I ordered 2 KGO VVs, a Vision Nova Slim v3, a SmokTech CE4, a bunch of 3.5ml Vision Clearomizers, lots of single coil cartomizers, and pleanty of e-liquids to sample.
I followed all the instructions I found here carefully, but the costly experiment did not go well. I didn't overfill, I didn't let liquid into the center hole, I performed the recommended 'priming burn' (which I never understood the use for), and I always started off at the lowest voltage setting & then followed the resistance/voltage chart. But every combination of liquid + carto I tried very quickly (within 5 minutes) resulted in burnt tasting flavor. I gave up and went back to Blu within 5 days. I ended up refilling my used Blu carts with the e-liquids I'd bought and had some success. Every so often I'd use a Blu cart on one of the KGOs at the lowest setting and it would work. It'd use up/get burnt tasting faster than if I'd used a Blu battery, though.
A few months ago Groupon had a deal on V2 started kits. I got 2, plus an extra battery, and several additional flavors of cartridges. I hated all but a few of their flavors. But the battery impressed me. Mostly, it inspired me to try a fancier device again...
So, I've just ordered 2 iTaste VV/VW v3s with iClear 16s, 3 Kanger T3s, 2 Kanger eVods, and a bunch of juice. But how do I keep from running into a repeat of the troubles I had before? I'm hoping I can just fill one of the Kangers up, put the iTaste into variable wattage mode and dial it up until I hit the sweet spot.
Assuming that works out, what next? Refill that same Kanger with that same flavor from now on? And for how many refills should it last that way? Can you go out for the day with filled tanks? Or, is it better to carry empty carts and bottles of liquid? Are there maintenance/cleaning routines I should be aware of that aren't covered in the packaging? There were no such instructions with my old Mini Nova or CE4s. In fact, those probably still have juice from last September in them somewhere... I probably shouldn't try using 'em again, right?
Thanks for any words you can offer. I'm excited to receive my iTastes. But I'm nervous I could end right back up in the Blu ecosystem in short order...
