Two weeks in and I still can't taste anything! I got the barest hint of melon when I tried a fruit one the other day. And just now, I could taste the caramel for the very first time in my RY4 when I vaped immediately after brushing my teeth, so it might be coming back slowly.
But after that brief excitement it tastes just like it always did now.

After advice from here I switched from a standard Ego to a VV and got Evod heads, but it's not made a bit of difference, so it's definitely my taste buds.
I'm drinking loads of water, I've tried spicy foods and coke and sniffing coffee and vaping menthol! Some of my juices are three weeks old now and steeped but still cant taste them. I can taste *something*, but its bitter. Suspect its nicotine or PG, but definitely no flavour!

Does vapers tongue often last this long?!

24mg. I started off on 18mg but was still smoking. Switched to 24mg after a week and haven't smoked since. I'm still chain vaping so don't trust myself to drop nic levels yet.

I've bought them, haven't tried DIY. I've got a box of samples but can't taste any of them so I'm sticking to RY4 and Softmint and rotating the two.

Can't wait for my tastebuds to wake up - the RY4 tasted LOVELY for a brief second just now!!

Just buy unflavored for now then. Many people vape it all the time and that way you won't waste the expensive stuff. If they don't sell it in the nic percentage you usually vape, then you can cut it yourself with VG either from them or even from CVS, or PG if you so prefer. $5.95 for 60 mls of 24 mg.

Our Unflavored Smoke Juice (Nic. Juice, Nicotine Juice) - My Freedom Smokes

ETA: sorry, they don't sell 24 mg in 60 ml, you will have to buy 125 ml for $8.45.

and just noticed you are UK, so they may not have a CVS. any pharmacy will most likely have it.

Hi Neesher. I'm 6 weeks in and still having issues! BUT it is slowly getting better. I found spearmint (like vaping toothpaste- yuk) and cinnamon were the only things I could really taste for weeks but I've now got a couple of flavours I can usually taste ( but not always). I've even had a lot of times when I think "mmm this apricots quite nice" and realize hours later Im vaping the baked apple pie flavour, which tasted like baked apple pie the day before!! It can be frustrating but I think it is improving. Exhaling through my nose helps a lot too and the most yummy flavour I've tasted has been with dripping which is really easy to do. The Evods are ok but I think flavour is better from mini protank or boge carto. I'm yet to try a mini nova or iclear- they are next on the list in the wonderful search for flavour!!

I feel for you! Just getting my buds back after a few days of gargling with vinegar, and lots of brushing my tongue lol. Don't give up!

Haven't tried vinegar! Sounds revolting!
I've been brushing my tongue though.

Well at least I'm not the only one. I thought it only usually lasted a few days and couldn't work out why I was still suffering!

Well it wasn't as bad as I thought, but it was the reason behind most of the excessive brushing and I figured it was much better than not tasting my vape lol. ;)
Nah, you're not alone.

It can, and it's a bad place to be in. At this point it is cotton tongue and seems to be caused by dehydration and the PG messing with the bacteria balance in your mouth and especially on your tongue. Brush your teeth often and use a mouth wash no more than twice a day. I find sipping Indian tonic water (with quinone) very helpful. Drink the regulation 8 glasses (2 liters) of water a day if you possibly can. You might find a higher VG mix helpful because PG really dehydrates you. Keep mixing the flavours up, but menthol is very useful. I do find that menthol brings the sweet caramel out in the RY4. Cut down on the caffeine if you can, but by no means cut it out altogether.

While you are more constantly vaping all the time you are going to be more susceptible to these problems as your mouth is not getting a rest.

I don't seem to have that problem any more, and can't remember how long it took to go away.

I finally moved to mostly VG because I couldn't stand the PG mouth/throat, with PG basically only in the flavorings I use in my DIY and haven't had any issues UNLESS I don't drink enough water. I bought a water bottle that holds the amount I need daily so I could make sure I drink enough. After a while it just becomes habit.

I sure hope you get over this soon :)

Yes, I have noticed a bit of difference if I put my PV down and leave it alone for longer than 30 seconds! Only lasts as long as the first hit though. And I do drink a lot of coffee.
And Ive wondered about the PG. I might try a higher VG content as well as getting the unflavoured and see if it makes a difference.

It has been over a month for me. It has been hit or miss. Some days things taste great and then all of a sudden it is gone again. I am back to not tasting a thing. Does not seem to stop me though. So just keep going. I hope it will get better. I dont have the cotton mouth like i did. I drink water all day, but i always have. I cant even taste my morning coffee any more. Not sure what it tastes like, but i drink that one cup a day anyways. lol Hope that it gets better for both you and me.
