Sour/Bitter Taste in Mouth

I've been vaping for 9 days and last night out of nowhere I started getting a really strong sour/bitter taste on my tongue. My tongue also started to feel raw and sore. Ever since then I can't taste any of my juices, not matter which clearo or fluid I use. Is this common? I've been hydrating like crazy, and it still exists after a nights sleep. I am assuming its from the nicotine, maybe some got on my tongue and it needs to just heal? I've brushed, I've tried eating something to get the taste out and still won't go away. I have changed the angle of my ecig so the hit doesn't directly hit my tongue and that helps a little, but still get that sour taste.

Just curious if this has happened to others? Is there any suggestions to get my taste back?

What equipment? Sounds like what happened to me before i realized my atomizer was about to pop.

Sounds like you may have a case of "vaper's tongue", and it's pretty common.

I've heard that drinking something citrus (like OJ or lemonade) helps. In any case, I hope it goes away soon!

Yeah... this a familiar story. When this has happened to me it's usually been from getting liquid in my mouth. No fun

Hello and yes this seems to be pretty common when people first pick up vaping. IMO it's probably the tissue in your mouth healing. I am not a doctor btw.Or you maybe burnt your clearos. Which is common when starting, because you're still getting a feel for your equipment. What types of e liquids are you using?

I am using iClear 16, iClear 30 and a ProTank. I just switched out the replacement coil in one, the others are a couple days old. I've been using a lot of different juices. A vanilla, a gummy bear, red bull, and Chai Tea. I have various nic levels from 18, 12, 6 and 0. The lower ones right now are making me taste a little better. My theory is that some nic got on my tip when refilling a tank and it got on my tongue and just need to buy some time.

I read somewhere else that that is common after a bit. I used distilled water to rinse out my mouth, then I used no flavor and or no nicotine. It did help. I notice it a lot when I drink coffee with cream n sugar. So I watch what I drink while vaping.

I had the same thing off and on for the first couple of weeks. A dill pickle spear seemed to reboot my taste buds...until the next time. After awhile everything normalized. Be sure and stay hydrated. Vaping will dry out your mouth.
