Cohiba Robusto

Hecho a Mano - Cohiba Robusto

review: http://vapour-taster.blogspot.com/2013/09/hecho-mano-cohiba-robusto-by-blueprintdk.html

"Hecho A Mano" is Spanish and when translated to English renders as "handmade" or "hand crafted". The Cohiba Robusto is a highly desirable type of thick, Cuban cigar that delivers a rich complex of flavour.

The tobacco is smooth and luxurious with a fruity quality which most closely approximates the flavour of apricot. As I hold my breath and then begin to exhale, I discern subtle and fleeting notes of a toasted nuttiness, black pepper, lemongrass and occasionally, what I imagine to be a fusion of cloves and cinnamon. There's a light woodiness at the bottom end that begins with the inhalation and follows through to the aftertaste. The tobacco predominates in the aftertaste alongside the very mild flavour of black pepper. Just a whisper. There's also a mild metallic tang around my forward teeth and gums. I've found, after some experimentation, that to coax the nuances of flavour out of this liquid, it needs to be vaped much like one would smoke a cigar: brief, shallow inhalations which allows for a constant stream of fresh vapour to wash across the taste buds. Unlike the smoking of a cigar, there's no ashiness in the flavour at all.

Several high profile reviewers have likened Hecho A Mano - Cohiba Robusto to RY4 e-liquids. I'm afraid I'll have to beg to differ. I find this liquid to be unashamedly and resolutely tobacco flavoured, unafraid to stand on it's own two feet without the assistance of either vanilla or caramel. This is a hardcore, though entirely accessible tobacco vape that offers a complexity of flavour not often encountered in e-liquids and as such would appeal to anybody who favours a savoury flavour profile, tobacco connoisseurs, or those with an adventurous palate. The Cohiba Robusto is the King of Cigars and BlueprintDK's juice is a worthy homage.

Man, those sound good -- do you know of others, with more of that "woodiness"? I think that tannic taste is what I'm looking for, but I don't want anything that tastes of wine - I'm a recovering alcoholic.

And to the OP -- I'm waiting on an order from EC Blend (sample sizes of 5mL) of first, a customer-created flavor called "N7115" described as a strong tobacco flavor with a light cigar taste. I'm hopeful of that one. And being so new to this, still so accustomed to the taste of burning tabacco, I ordered another of theirs with the disgusting name of "Dirty Ashtray" -- according to reviews, this one tastes more like burnt tobacco than anything else they've tried, so I'm very hopeful this one will be a kind of "bridge" to the flavors of vaping, away from burning stinkweed. I'll post a review when I get them.

i don't look for cigar flavors myself, but i've seen some things that might be good for you.

House of Liquid
-they make all kinds of tobacco's and also e-cigars
Havana
interesting note: they source their tobacco leaves from producers who decline to use pesticides or child labour.

Saint Damian ($12/15ml)
A pure NET vape--no sweeteners, no artificial flavors--just pure cigar tobacco flavor, made from Santa Damiana "500" cigars. (Not available in 0mg)

Lavonda's Flower ($12/15ml)
A pure NET vape--no sweeteners, no artificial flavors--just pure cigar tobacco flavor, made from El Rey del Mundo "La Flor de LaVonda cigars. (Not available in 0mg)

Gloria ($12/15ml)
A pure NET vape--no sweeteners, no artificial flavors--just pure cigar tobacco flavor, made from La Gloria Cubana "Double Corona" cigars. (Not available in 0mg)

I ordered from alembic, I got the Gloria and ry4. $22 I think it was for a couple of 15 ml bottles. The guy gets an A+ for packaging, presentation, and boxing! The glass bottles come with droppers, shrink wrapped seals with strings attached to tear open the bottles. The priority mail box inside is painted with his logo, and packed with confetti. Like I said, A+ on packing and presentation.

The Gloria juice taste exactly like the DIY juice I made from extracting a LaGloria series R cigar myself in PG and my microwave. So I guess that is a good thing... but like my own extraction, it's weak on flavor. Aroma is there, but the intense flavor is not.

The RY4 is a little sweet and pretty good.... not outstanding, just good... Very comparable to so many other ry4 I've tried.

I think his prices are ok since they include priority shipping... would I order again? Probably not.

I'll move to the next suggestion on the list.

NOTE: I'm not trying to talk anyone out of buying his juices. I think they are ok. Just not what I wanted to find. I want that intense cigar flavor, the in your face- I'm a cigar vape! and it may not be possible in vape form? I don't know yet, that's why I'm on this journey.
