Stronger magnets are great, and even recommended depending on how weak the magnets on your SR switch are, but they are not a replacement for a lock ring.

Unfortunately, I haven't seen any replacement (clone) switches, caps, or lock rings for the SR. One thing to keep in mind is that the lock ring on the SR is pretty thin and pliable, putting to much direct pressure on it will cause it to seize as it goes out of round. Using channel locks will definitely make it seize. A light touch or in some cases a light touch and nitrile gloves or rubber bands around it will get it to loosen up.

If you jacked the threads on the lock ring, you likely jacked the threads on the mod. If a little steam off the kettle won't loosen it up, you may want to consider getting a second one (~$25 on FastTech)
