My hcigar Stingray X just came in the mail today and it looks pretty good. Even without cleaning and polishing the threads move nicely and i did a test fire on my kayfun and it was definitely hitting stronger then my Infinite Nemesis clone. I have a minor concern though, regarding the magnetic switch, the throw on it is miniscule, like a mm or so. Much smaller then the nemesis spring. If I tighten it down so there is no battery rattle in the mod, it feels like it will fire if you look at it funny. I am assuming the black ring on top of the switch should press against the battery, but the clearance between the ring and the flat top of the pin is about even. Is this as intended?

Even is not proper. The pin wants to be below the black ring. Looking at mine pulled off the pin sits less than a mm lower than the black ring, and when pushed maybe travels all of 1mm and final pressed location is less than a mm higher than the black ring.

Perhaps try making any necessary adjustments. Though try not to take the assembly apart. I have heard from multiple sources they can be a PITA to re-assemble.

Its not to bad to disassemble. Figured it out, the delrin ring is to thin. It sits pretty flush with the top of the pin. I was able to pull it out and reseat it so it was a bit more then 1mm above the pin. That seems to have solved the auto firing. Now I just need to find a thicker ring to put in there.

Like one of the spare o rings from my RDA's? and do I tuck in under the delrin ring or on top of the delrin ring?

No a thicker rubber oring maybe 1mm thick ... You put in the battery, drop the oring in under the battery then screw on the button ... The oring has to be large enough that it won't interfere with the bottom pin

As you describe the problem that clone sounds defective.

Is it possible to send it back and get one with a derlin insulator that is made properly?

O-ring fixes and such seem like stopgap measures to fix a manufacturing defect.

I sent the store a email asking about it, so it's wait and see.

My Hcigar Stingray X from Vape royalty has a very small throw. The pin ends up less than 1 mm above the black delrin when firing, and is a hair more than that below the black delrin when not firing. Is that what you're describing? It has never auto fired on me. I had the opposite problem, meaning it wouldn't fire sometimes because it wasn't traveling high enough above the delrin

When I emailed vape royalty I was told that the original was much like this, and that firing pin was *intended* to be adjustable? Not exactly what I wanted to hear. Anyway I tried what they recommended, namely unscrewing the firing pin 1/2-3/4 of a full turn so that when firing the pin would go higher above the delrin. I was expecting the switch to unscrew itself with use and become crunchy from doing this, but it actually didn't at all. Still no auto firing, and fires perfectly every time now.

This probably doesn't help though, as it seems you were having a different issue

cheers

I think we are having the same issue, but with two differing opinions. This is only my second mech mod so I am still figuring out what I actually like, but I think my preference is for a long but tighter throw. In my switch assembly, before i stuck an O ring under the delrin (which did work, i've got about 1 mm space between the top of the ring and the top of the pin when not pressed, and just shy of a mm when fully pressed.) The pin and ring were just about flush with one another when not pressed down, so when I tightened up the switch assembly to the body it was making a light contact with the battery. It just seemed inherently risky to me with the potential to auto fire. I'm looking at those fat daddy modifications and not sure how some of them work, but maybe the delrin ring with the ultmate kit will do what I want, in a longer tighter smoother throw.
