Stock flavors?

hmmm...that's a bit of flavor family variety. IMO it's gonna be a trial and error deal. Order flavor combos that you think you will like and with time you will find your sweet spots. I have a vast list of likes which gives me several must haves for me personally....and those must haves would not make it into my hubby's list.

hopefully some others that don't have such vast flavor family favorites will pop in and give a little better advice.
 
Not trying to threadjack here, but I have an add on question that may help with OP's question. What kind of ingredients would be a good idea to stock that aren't used for a specific flavor? For example, sweetener, bitter something or other I've read about a lot lately, etc. Or even add-in flavors. For example, I've heard a few people say vanilla is a must have for bringing out the flavor of other flavors. Does that make sense or did I just muddy the water?
