My husband is a fairly new vaper, he vapes on a ego with a 510 atomizer blank carts that he fills with a 50/50 tobacco flavored juice. 18mg nic.
He is complaining of heart burn has any one experienced this before? He claims since he is not vaping the heartburn went away.
I have the same set up just not tobacco flavored juice ( can't find one that I like) and I have no problems at all.
Any input would be welcome since he went back to smoking analogs.........

Thank you!

This is from the article--

6. Heartburn, acid refluxSome folks have reported heartburn / acid reflux symptoms. This reported by those quitting who don't use an ecig, so it seems to be an occasional symptom of quitting. It is reported to go away eventually. One way to live with it is to use Gaviscon liquid, an OTC (over the counter) med that coats the gullet and stops the acid burning. It's far more effective than pills for some people.

Nicotine overdose is also implicated according to some reports - there is a hypothesis that nicotine causes the muscular valve at the top of the stomach to relax, in some people.

Thank you so much for your reply, I don't think that he doesn't want to vape, he was vaping happily for a couple of weeks untill the heartburn started, he even went to the doctor who told him about the valve, so we lowered the nic. Maybe if I tell him that quiting analogs could cause this, he will come around.
Thank you so much!

I've tried to get my hubby to do things- and he does reluctanty. Sorta like a 5 year old so I thought it might be the same deal. He doesn't smoke but just trying to get him to take a pill drives me nuts.

Re-reading that last part that I posted-

"there is a hypothesis that nicotine causes the muscular valve at the top of the stomach to relax, in some people."

This might be it. I forget what it's called that they put in cigarettes- almost like a tranquilizer. Maybe he's missing that relaxing effect that he got from cigs.

I have had the same problem. I think it has to do with the amount of nicotine. I used to get the same thing when I smoked cigs and over did it. Now that I have been vaping I find I sometimes get too much nicotine 'cause it's so easy and yummy to vape all day. I started 2+ months ago with 18 mg and am now down to 10-11mg and vaping 1.5-2ml per day. On the days where I start to feel the heartburn kick in I switch to 0mg in the evening. Just a guess but it seems to work for me.

I noticed the same thing as sidetrack. If I start to have the "heartburn" sensation, switching to zero nic helps or just slacking off on the vaping a bit. I think its possible too that since PG and VG tend to dry out the mucous membranes, they may be making us more sensitive to the effect of the nicotine. Just my personal opinion, so take it with a grain of salt.
