Hey all. I'm curious about there being any possible risk with loose battery storage. e.g. if you stow away a couple of 123A's loose in a pouch/pocket/whatever is there any possibility of something bad happening due to the contacts touching?
I'd venture to say it's POSSible if both ends of the battery made contact with, say, a handful of change or string of keys like my wife carries. I'd keep one end covered with some kind of cap anyway just so I didn't repeat "The Incident" with a 9v battery some years ago.
k.rad, its always a good idea to keep your batteries from touching. Like Tom said, you can't let both ends of the batteries make contact with each other, or loose metal objects. Safety first!
Battery Junction and a lot of other battery places have plastic battery cases that are inexpensive. That's the best way to carry them. Real cheap insurance.
