I just ordered 3x 30ml bottles of juice from Mt Baker Vapor. Three different flavors (peach, blackberry, and menthol). However, they all have a similar very nasty flavor to them. I can't figure out what it is, but it literally makes me gag. :( With some random searches I've read about alcohol being used in eliquids - could this be what I'm tasting? How long do I need to let them sit for that awful flavor to dissipate? Will it even evaporate while sitting in such narrow-necked bottles?

Thanks. :vapor:

Try letting them breath for 1-2 days. Take the cap off and store them in a dark, dry, cool place. That should allow the alcohol and volatiles to evaporate off. Then give em' a try.

Edit: I have a few friends who vape MBV and they haven't had this issue.

Ok. I've started that process. Put them in a cabinet without the caps or tips.

Anyone else ever experience a weird flavor? I'm really disappointed, I've heard such great things about MBV.

Well can you give us a better description of what you are tasting other than "nasty"? It's not alcohol - as far as I know (and have experienced) MBV doesn't use alcohol based flavorings.

What PG/VG ratio and nic level did you select?
Hmm.. It's hard to describe. The smell reminds me of the medicinal overtones in cough syrup... a hit of unwashed/unpeeled carrot or parsnip without the sweetness (?!? lol sorry, I'm just trying to see what comes to mind)

The flavor... I can't describe it because it's not quite like anything I've tasted before. Chemical/medicinal... not burnt, my coils are clean and I just installed new wicks, wicks are saturated, etc.

It's a flavor/smell I can detect strongly in all three flavors I ordered. (Less so with the Menthol, just because it's strong enough that it covers it up a bit.)

I selected: 12mg nic, 80 VG/20 PG.

Good! Let us know if that works. If it doesn't, contact MBV an I'm sure they will gladly replace them. Good people over there!

There are several vendors who use a "base" nic solution that just doesn't agree with me, or the flavoring companies they use.

Steeping may help but it may not.

You can certainly trade them in PIF juice swap though.

Ok, so I let them set in a closed cabinet for 2 and half days. The smell of whatever my sense of taste/smell is "sensitive" to in these juices has completely permeated my cabinet. HOWEVER, at least the juices are vapable now. :)

I'll leave them open again until tomorrow evening and see if the flavor continues to improve.

I feel like I might be able to give Mt Baker Vapor a "second chance" with another order now. Anyone have any favorite flavors that are must-tries? (I want to stay away from custards, tobacco extracts, and bananas).
