Strong and then weak???

I use an ego-Swinger with different strength coils and always have the same problem...Every once in a while I get a really great drag off of it and then I'll have 10 or more that are weak and unsatisfactory, then I'll have one or two really great drags that have good TH but it'll go back to being weak again. Vapor production remains constant even with the weak drags.

I've changed how I drag off of it, changed how I store it, changed batteries, etc. and still have the same problem. Is that just an e-cig thing? Do I just have bad coils?

I'm very frustrated any more because I'd like every hit I take to be one of the good ones.

I just ordered a Nautilus tank. I've read mostly great stuff about it. TH and flavor are supposed to be outstanding. Should be getting it tomorrow. My, how the equipment has changed over the years. Bigger and better everything!!!!

Can't say Ive heard of an ego swinger, is that the name of the delivery device / topper or battery you're using.

That's the mod I use. I didn't think the tank would have a big impact on flavor or strength, but I have a glass tank(not sure the brand). I figured that my problem would be with the coil or possibly juice. The ego swinger is a variable voltage 1300mAh battery.

Ego swinger is new to me as well. Can you give us more info on exactly what you're using? (Did you mean Spinner?) And what type of topper is important to know, as they all have slightly different characteristics.

How long (i.e. how many times refilled) has the topper been in service since the last cleaning? Sometimes wicks and coils can behave like you mention when they get gunked up...

It's very similar to the spinner only it's made by optimizerTech, not Vision. I don't have wicks, just coils in my set up and I've just changed my coil recently. Regardless, I've had this problem with every coil I put in this.

The delivery device has everything to do with getting a satisfactory vape.

If you're a chain vaper or take long / hard pulls the tiny bits of wick in most if not all replaceable head clearo's just cant keep up. As the wicking material dries the vape quality diminishes.
High vg%, thick & sweet juices tend to wick more slowly, they also gunk up coils & wicks quicker and burn easier.

What type of delivery device / topper are you using?

So you suggest that I get a new tank? Any suggestions on brand/type? The wicks have always backed me off because I don't really understand them and it appears to be more work than just replacing the coil.

In my opinion, the topper affects the vape quality more then the device does, although a good device does play a part. Most variable volt devices pulse the voltage up and down to come to an average at the voltage setting you select. The faster this pulse is, the better the vape and the better for your coils supposedly. I haven't done much experimentation with devices that use the 33 htz chips. All of mine use chips with a faster pulse and I've got nothing to compare the experience to. I can say that my Provari seems to taste better to me then the MVP 2 when they are both set to the same settings.

Try and find out what kind of glass tank you are using. If I had to guess, I think I'd guess it uses a dual bottom coil. There are actually wicks in it, you just can't see them?

When you say "tank" are you currently using carto's or an RBA inside a tank?

With replaceable head clearo's (top, bottom, single or dual) the wick/coil assembly is one unit, you unscrew the old one and install a new one. It is very simple to replace the head.

There's wick inside the coils.
It sounds like you're using any version of protank or davide tank.

Could you provide a picture of your tank if you dont know the name?

My suggestion for tanks is
Aerotank 1 (aero mega will be big on an ago) or aerotank mini.

That's exactly right...at least there are two little ends at the bottom(or top?) of the coil that look like two little wicks, so I would assume that would be referred to as a dual bottom coil. Are those any good? Do I need to switch to a longer wick set-up? Alright I found my tank online and it is a Kangertech Protank 2, Dual Coil Atomizer.

Protank 2 are single coils but they have 2 ends of wicking material, called silica.
What type of juice are you using? These coils can hardly use 50/50 blends without getting dryhits.
And the coils for protank 2 are notoriously bad, sometimes you can try 5-6 coils and all of them are bad.

What voltage do you vape at? These can't handle to high volts due bad juiceflow in them.

If you're using 50/50 pg/vg blends or higher VG you can open up the stem on the coil and remove the "flavour wicks" that's ontop. 2 small strains of silica. Remove those and put back the stem. and then try to vape again.

Only the 2 small strains that's ontop of the coil. The wicks inside the coil should stay.

Some folks recommend removing some or all of the flavor wicks, I don't, fairly often you end up with leaking/flooding problems.

IMO 50/50 is not thick and should flow well in any clearo without modification, could be time for a new head. When replacing with a new head its a good idea to put a couple drops on the wicks and take a few primer puffs before pressing the fire button.

That's realy dependet on the juice manucaturer aswell. Most of my juices are too thick to use with flavourwicks.
But nowdays i rebuild my kanger coils and use cotton wicks instead.

Also if the juice is colored it'll clog up the coil faster giving you less and less flavour/good hits.

I'm sorry I think I'm getting lost in translation. I have a coil in my hand and can't seem to find any loose standing pieces of wick. I can see the ones going through the coil but nothing else. I also can't seem to find a way to open up the coil to look for anything.
