Im only a few weeks in to vaping and got my first juices at the local shop. The second mail order I received had a strong chemical smell in all 3 bottles. Perhaps alcohol? I tried a little and couldnt get past that smell. Did I get bad juice or is this just what some smell like?

I would wager that it is just an alcohol base or solution for the flavors in your liquid. Sometimes you can let them sit a couple of days, but don't be surprised if it takes 2-3 weeks for it to be best. EDIT*-I recommend getting a drip atomizer or two for this type of situation.

Liquids that don't use alcohol for a solution for flavorings won't necessarily taste better, but they will be sweeter EDIT*- if you let them sit for a period of time. I try to get smaller bottles in those flavors or go through them faster if I get a larger bottle.

You can try and let the unpleasant odors evaporate and they may be alchohol. They may also be overmixed with flavorings. Give it a try..pour them out in a larger glass container like a measuring cup if you want to try to get the alchohol out quicker. Let it age about three days or so. If it doesnt taste good by then, I would throw it in a drawer and forget about it for a month. If it doesnt taste good then, trash it.

Im of the general opinion that if it doesnt taste good when you get it.....several days are not going to make it magically better. My two cents.

Welcome 2pak2zero to the ECF,
:2c:
Some mail order custom make their liquid, just for that order. They may need some time to "steep". Kind of like a fine wine needs to age before it is consumed. Some do use alcohol as a thinner in their liquid, and letting it "age" uncapped, in the dark, for a few days does improve the flavor, and lets the alcohol evaporate. Most juice does improve with aging, IMHO.

Welcome to ECF. Sorry if I missed the answer to the OP's question. Whenever I get FRESH juice, I always let it steep. My method is to take it to a dark closet. Shake it up real good (that way it knows who the boss is.). Once shaken, then droppers and caps off. Dark closet for 48 hrs. Lets the alcohol evaporate.. Then droppers and caps back on.. Shake again. Then dark closet for at least 2 weeks. I've got juice that has steep since last Dec. It is HEAVENLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Where do yall get those sweet banners that say how long you've quit and how much youve saved?

I asked that same question a couple days ago. Maybe yesterday... After 15 posts you can check in your settings and find the Edit Signature link on the left side of the page. I found some on e-cig wiki. Click here if you like. Once you're ready for it, copy the info and paste it into your signature.
