Hello all and many thanks in advance for any advice you can offer me. I've been using a joye510 for roughly a year. I like it ok, i did try like 3 different e cigs before sticking with the 501.

lately I've been feeling like i want to take my vaping to the next level, maybe a nice peice to just keep at home. I'm curious about the 7v e cigs. I'm looking for more of a throat hit, the sensation of the inhale,,its been pretty decent on the 501 but im sure there is something better if willing to invest the money.

So I was curious what the opinions are of the higher powered devices. Which one has the best reputation so to speak?

and maybe who is a good supplier of said device?

Depends on how much you want to spend. Bear in mind that the 510 runs at below 3.7 volts with the stock batteries, so even a true 3.7 V mod would be an improvement. If you want to play with the range of higher voltages, you could try either the Chuck or a GGTS. The Chuck will let you do 3.7 V or 6 V (and you can do 7.4 volt, but I wouldn't recommend it being a starting point.) with an 18650 for 3.7V and (2)123As for 6.0 or 7.4, depending if you use the 3.0 or 3.7 volt 123As. The GGTS lets you use about 7 different combinations of batteries, plus it supports 801,901,808D and 510 out of the box. Those are my personal faves.

The 3.7v BB is a good step-up from what you have been doing. Great unit. I personally have stepped up to 6v and will want the GG Super Slim before long; when I can afford it.
If you have stuck to a regular 510 for a year, I think you would do well with the BB.
A good lightweight, durable unit, and think you would be amazed in comparison to the 510.
A lot more vapor production and taste. The GG is the ultimate and they do have 3.7 v
units as well as the 7v+ unit, pretty expensive though. SB or the Black Bullet are also
one of the premier types and on sale now at Altsmoke. My SB has hardly left my hands
since I bought it. Good luck

Slide on over to VK and pick up the GGTS along with some HV 901 attys. A Super-T drip tip {T-Tip} and you'll never look back. I've heard the Super-Slim is gonna be replaced by 2 Slims with a connecter to join them. Recent news supports this and in effect you'll have 2 Slims that will make 1 Super-Slim. The Slims are OK but use 10440 batts and Brother they don't last very long. They are stylish, and they are slim, and they are nice and high quality. The GGTS takes a range of batts, operates from 3.7 to 7.4 volts and is a quality piece that will get the job done in a major way. My GGTS is set at 6volts with a 901 HV atty and T-Tip. I'm an ex 3 pack a day smoker. Get some Atomic Cinnicide from Tasty Vapor and the GGTS and you will have the most potent combination. The AC is dee-lish at 6V.

You could 'try out' a 5v by using the LR atty, or get a 5v PT (what I did) like this one fom madvapes (this is like the one I own but mine has a thicker cable) 5 Volt 510 Manual USB Passthrough
Its cheap so if you find its 'not enough' you can move up to 6v with a mod :)

Hi,

Where did you get yours with the thicker cable?

Thanks. :)

Voltage isn't the defining characteristic of how a PV performs. It is only one characteristic. Wattage is the true measure of performance. You can raise the wattage by going with higher voltage or lower resistance. Most people don't bother with anything above 6V because there is such a thing as too much, and once you get above about 12W, you will get nothing but burned juice and blown attys. Here's a chart I made to find the right configuration for your needs:

I started out on a 510 as well. I was getting frustrated at the lack of TH and flavor.

A friend recommended getting an eGo battery and using it with a Low Resistance atty. Eureka!! This is perfect for me. All I needed was an adaptor for my 510 wall charger to work on my eGo. It works with all of my 510 equipment. The carts fit perfectly. And I've even tried my eGo with a 510 cartomizer. I did buy the eGo's USB rapid charger. It will fully charge in about 90 minutes, and the charge will last 8 hours or so--with heavy vaping. I just can't use it on the regular 510 batteries. It will fry them.

I didn't want to start from scratch by buying another style of PV. I wanted to use the stuff I already had.

The eGo/LR atty gives a HV performance at a lower price. I probably would have gone to a Prodigy, or something similar, had it been less expensive. Maybe one day I will. Hope this helps!

Candre - fabulous chart, guy.

Shows up clearly what gear you need to be in the sweet spot around 10.5 Watts. A nice way to point up that a 510 atty of 2.2 - 2.6 Ohms is where it's at for 5 volts (proved in practice, and the atties last just fine by the way); and for an 801 of over 3 Ohms you need 6 volts.

You could maybe add a couple of labels to show the top line of numbers is ohms, the left col is volts.

Lovely job.

Hey there again dfulmer! As we have spoken before, My sweet spot is with a SB @ 6v and using a HR cartomizer from nhaler. They run at 3.4 ohm vs. the normal 2.2 - 2.5 510 atty. I get monstrous hits that would probably choke me if I went 1 second longer than my normal pull.

This is actually kinda funny so I have to share it! When I firs got my SB and threw the 2 3.0v batteries in it I was going back to work from my lunch break. I took a good long pull and when I exhaled I could barely see in front of me! Lesson learned....No heavy vaping while driving on a really sunny day!!
