Stupid q? How many drops go into an empty 510 cart?

Well, it depends on what you are using to fill it up.
I generally use a syringe, but I have no idea how many drops that would be.
I do know that you will get more juice in using a syringe than anything else though.
I have also used the toothpick/paper clip method and find that I can get about 17 drops.
But it also depends on the size of your dropper as well.
So, yeah, not a simple question.
And anybody that gives you a simple answer should not be trusted.
I nave a 501, and on my empty carts i add 7 drops. once its full, i add a drop throughout the day just to top off, and i add 3 in the mornings. hope that helps!

It's a trial thing... just keep dripping and moving your wick around until it's wet and wont hold anymore juice. It should glisten on the tip but not have a little bubble of juice sitting on top. For mine, when I actually do carts, its 12-17 drops depending on which bottle I'm dripping from... some are bigger so less drops needed... confused yet?

On a fresh 510 blank cart (stock filler) with the straw mod I can get 25-30 drops. It's not unusual for me to top off with 8-10 but sometimes more - I tilt the cart so that the straw is on top and air is escaping as I fill. I clean my fillers once every week to 10 days. Can't get those amounts with VG and VG tends to clog more...with those fillers I'll take a straight pin like Parked shows with his syringe.
Wow, Once a cart has been filled, I can never get more than 3 drops in. I guess that is what is referred to as topping off but when I am at the point of topping off it's just not producing. Are you all actually vaping the cart down where you get more than a few drops in?

To add my voice to the confusion, every 510 round blank cartridge I've had has been almost double stuffed with polyfil which has made filling and topping off annoying. I started ripping the fillers in half lengthwise and had much better luck.
I switched to 901 whistletips for my 510 and that's been MUCH better all around. Initial fill is about 17-20 drops and the material they're stuffed with wicks like a dream and top offs are 10-15 drops without having to fiddle around with tweezers to knock out air bubbles.
I still don't know what the filler in the 901 carts is but it's not polyfill/fluval, it's more like poly-sponge (Whatever that may be). Depending on the liquid used they get a little gunked up after a couple days of heavy use so I just chuck them in a box. At less than $2 for ten I'm not worried. I've got a couple that are still performing like new after 3 weeks of heavy use and that seems to be because of the juice.

I recently received my 901 carts for my 510 too. I am also finding that I like those carts better. Question to you though.... When I first opened it, I was going to pull the stuffing & fill first then stick the stuffing back in, but it seemed like it was stuck (glued?) into the cart. Did you experience this? Granted, I only opened and used one so far.
I can't put 41 drops on a 510 cart. Even without polyfill. In my opinion maybe the drops are touching the poly (in the video) and dripping prematurely, so they are too small. Drops size varies depending on viscosity, but in my test with different liquids i can only add between 14-18 drops to an empty cart. Am I doing something wrong here?
If you're addressing that to me... yes, I can top off with 8-10 drops with the straw mod but without it just a few drops. Straw mod not only makes sense, but it works.
i use PTB, it usually takes about 10-12 to fill and then 3-5 to top off, it seems there is always residual juice in the teabag you just cant get to, I also like to drop one or two dirrectly on the atty bf putting the cart on.

my stock (un-modded) 510 cart cant hold nearly that much...
i use the 3ml ecopure dropper, the carts are standard polyfill...and i get between 6-9 drops...after 8 im pushing it, the thing looks flooded even after i mess with the fill a bit.

I am new to all this, but I noticed you say above "when I actually do carts" I have just ordered a 510... is there an option to not use the cartridges?
